From the creators of 'The Office' and 'Extras' comes the new HBO comedy series, The Ricky Gervais Show. The series is an animated version of Gervais' podcasts that earned a spot in The Guiness Book of World Records for the most downloads. It is voiced by Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, and colleague and friend Karl Pilkington whose offbeat musings inspire many of the storylines which include the merits of 20th century inventions; Karl's suggestion for population control; how philosophy has evolved through the ages; Karl's round head; and his thoughts on charity.

His 15 minutes are well up. Cant listen to radio without cartoons? This is for you.

animation really improves these podcasts

Wish they'd be honest and call it the Karl Pilkington Show.

I've heard all the XFM shows and even in the earliest days it was all about Karl, Gervais never even managed to make me raise a smile

BTW peeps the Comic relief podcast is on Itunes for free its brilliant "Tuberware!"

That really isn't what these animations are about, I'd say that's an unfair comment

get the podcast, i don't think the animation improves these, in fact i think it makes them worse... sorry.

Not a fan. Nice, talented bloke, but he's responsible for the worst Simpsons episode I ever saw, and an excrutiating performance in the last one shown.

Get on the torrents and get the entire catalogue of the podcasts.... made hundreds of my long car journeys bearable

This about sums it up. It was cobbled together to make a bit more cash out of already released material.

The TV series doesn't even scratch the surface! If you're a fan you NEED to hear the last decade of content!

Definitely. The XFM series 1-4 are golden. The first 2 series from XFM are probably the funniest in my opinion, purely because all of the reactions are genuine as Karl is telling his life stories for the very first time on air. Of course the podcasts are still very funny, and even more refined, but you'll realise that the reactions from Ricky and Steve aren't quite as genuine and hilarious as when they first hear Karl (on XFM).
