A classic, vicious and hilarious comedy following the Pre Fab Four on the path to publicity, profits and problems. A new version with previously unavailable scenes.

Mock rockumentary, parodying the rise of a legendary pop band, that features a host of cameos from the likes of Mick Jagger, Paul Simon and George Harrison. Dirk (Eric Idle), Stig (Rikki Fataar), Ron (Neil Innes) and Barry (John Halsey) are the Rutles, a 'fab four' who, after a star appearance on Rutland Weekland Television, shock and rock the nation with such classics as: 'Ouch!', 'Piggy in the Middle', 'Cheese and Onions', 'Love Life' and 'Doubleback Alley'. The clever, Beatles-esque pastiches were all composed by Monty Python collaborator and Bonzo Dog Band member, Neil Innes.

Special Features
Further Deleted Scenes, Eric Idle Commentary, Eric Idle Introduction

possibly the irony is lost on you....a bit like those that didnt completely understand the Peter Kaye show about the Xfactor.....just a thought.....to be honest though....I find most of the songs in the film were better attempts at Beatles parodies than the stuff Oasis currently churn out....oh wait a mo....they're supposed to be originals.....not parodies of the Beatles and John Lennon.....:whistling:...sorry, its an age thing....

The funniest part of this was Neil Innes lost out on some of the royalties to the songs because the Beatles publishing compnay claimed too much similarity with their client's music. But then he got some royalties back because another band borrowed one of his tunes. Can you guess which band that was?

To be honest though, unless yoy know the Beatles story well, 90% of the jokes will fly straight over your head.
