i don't ant another wasted trip to the giants to find mine is 40 quid like with lips

Unequivocally one of the worst games I've ever played. For a start, the voice acting is just awful. The protagonist's Irish accent is so bad it makes me wince, and they could at least have gotten a French person to voice the French people. The graphics may look polished when no-one's moving, but the character animations are laughable. When the guy runs, it reminds me of the little stick-figure protagonist from Driver 2. Then there are the driving mechanics (which are hopeless), the non-existant introductory plotting (like being told who the guy actually is, for example), the fighting mechanics (awful) the bizarre decision to make areas you haven't neutralised completely black-and-white, and the woeful attempt at parkour. In Assassin's Creed, climbing walls and jumping across rooftops feels fluid, natural, effortless. In this, every movement requires stopping, and then another button press. It's jerky, pointless, and no fun at all.

Worst of all, though, I got to the end of the introductory mission, having blown up a fuel dump, and was told to return to the bloke I was working with. There was no clue as to where he might be, but the mission marker was on the car, so I got in. Then a little route came up on the map, so I followed it. The screen then went red and I was told I'd failed the mission for leaving my mate behind.

At that point, I gave up, and thus The Saboteur effectively becomes a £20 Game voucher.

Cheaper @ Gameplay … Cheaper @ Gameplay > http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/advanced_search.asp?keyword=saboteur&platform=ALL

Yes it is, rep added for that.

I'm going to give it a miss though, apparently the game isn't anything special and I have 2 new games to play on at the moment plus a ton of old ones which I still haven't finished.

I can't decide whether or not to get this, tried it at Eurogamer expo and thought it was OK, I'll end up renting it more than likely lol

I couldn't disagree more. Have had a total blast on this since I got it and keep going back for more. Can often spend 5 hours playing it and only do a few missions as free play is so much fun. Love the size of the game, the feeling of it being alive and actually really enjoy the climbing mechanics - feels good. Love the gun combat as well and cover system. Very satisfying.

BTW, the game gets alot better after the intro mission. You should at least play through more missions before condemning it. Also try exploring the countryside and doing some freeplay.

I'm a huge GTA addict though so this type of game is right up my street.

I think I will probably just wait until it's a bargain basement title. I just got Uncharted 2 and Assassin's Creed 2 and I want Bioshock 2 and Heavy Rain in February.

Same price in Allerton Tesco (saw it this morning, didn't think to post); will give it a miss until it's a tenner, lol.

Killing Krauts = EPIC!

Great thanks, just picked up the PS3 version yesterday for £24 H&R added.

The price now gone up to £39 as of 19 Jan :whistling:
