      Synopsis
Sherlock Holmes is a fictional detective of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, who first appeared in publication in 1887. He is the creation of Scottish born author and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. A brilliant London-based detective, Holmes is famous for his intellectual prowess, and is renowned for his skillful use of deductive reasoning (somewhat mistakenly - see inductive reasoning) and astute observation to solve difficult cases. He is arguably the most famous fictional detective ever created, and is one of the best known and most universally recognizable literary characters in any genre.

I’ve read the first two novels, A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of the Four, and they were great. Currently on the short stories in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, and they’re also quite good, but a little too short to get any sort of story going. Definitely worth a read for free though!
Great deal, thanks. I love me some Sherlock.
What's the best audible book for this? I dont see an option for this kindle.
      Thanks

Really? I preferred the short stories; when I was reading a Study in Scarlet I nearly gave up on the whole canon.... very glad I didn't though as they are fantastic stories. My favourtite long one was the Hound of the Baskervilles.
i wonder, would these be suitable for a 13 year old?
      Pualle25/09/2019 01:57

I think I was about that age when I first read them.

There are definitely some parts that drag, in a Study in Scarlet I almost gave up a couple of times when it went on and on about the Mormon characters! I think if the short stories were a little longer then they’d be better. I feel like the plot is explained and then almost instantly solved before you can get into it. I’m very impressed with the series as a whole though, and am looking forward to the Hound of the Baskervilles!
      it's actually £ .5 but still good
