So The Sims 4 is due to be released on 05.09.2014. I am aware that the game is cheaper from CD Keys, however, if you're like me and would rather buy an actual disc, then this is a good price, considering it's nearly £40 everywhere else.

£5 off when you spend £30 on all Entertainment using eCoupon Code TDX-TNWT at the Checkout. Offer ends 26/08/2014. Excludes Tesco Partners

Do gamers a favour - don't buy the Sims 4. It's a downgrade compared to Sims 3 in almost every way.

Thanks ...just ordered

Have you played it? No? Then how could you possibly make that observation?

Even playing the Create a Sim demo I can tell that it is a massive improvement in terms of detail and choice. I can only speculate that they have made similar upgrades to the building of houses and items you can furnish it with, as well as the massive upgrade to the emotions system they use and how Sims interact.

By "almost every way", do you mean "pools and toddlers"?

Looks like the word filter may have killed the URL

I've shortened it here: EDIT - well, looks like I can't use a URL shortener either...

Looks like they have removed a lot from the Sims 3 though. It might be a technical improvement, but it sounds like they're removing a lot of the creative options

At the end of the day, whether you want to buy the game or not is a personal choice. If you're not interested in it, then why bother commenting? This is a post for people who actually want to buy the game

Oh, just to fan the flames:

Looks like there won't be any early copies up for review. EA know this game is bad.

I think people are just saying be careful and consider waiting rather than jumping the gun as there are a lot of indications that it'll be disappointing and not worth the money. The decision to follow the advice or not is of course up to each individual user, but I don't think it hurts to advise caution.
