Possibly Vic and Bob's finest hour, The Smell Of Reeves And Mortimer displays the madcap duo at their most surreal, anarchic best with characters such as the bra-wearing men Pat Wright and Dave Arrowsmith; awful folk duo Mulligan and O'Hare and flatulent farceurs the Petomanes.

Among the many other highlights were occasional visits from Slade, the 1970's glam-rock group, brilliantly imitated by Reeves, Mortimer, Paul Whitehouse and Mark Williams, plus hosts of other guests including Little Britain's Matt Lucas, Caroline Aherne, Charlie Higson and Sting.

Contains all the episodes ever made!

My sentiments exactly - I had the VHS tapes and fancied seeing this again.

as mentioned above I gather the DVD is heavily cut compared to the TV series which went out so beware - this is why I have never invested in the DVD set....and probably why it comes up cheap quite often...

On Amazon a reviewer says:
"If you already have this on VHS in the Red & Blue editions that came out a few years ago, be prepared to be a little disappointed as this has been cut back to the original TV versions. If you've never seen the extended versions then it's not a problem, but remembering the bits they've cut out is a bit distracting at times."

So I'm a little confused, are they the same as the broadcast episodes or not? I ordered one anyway to stuff in someone's stocking

compared to the vhs I think. But the vhs is so funny, it's really noticable if you like it already, you prepare yourself for a joke and it's not there

Thanks, montblanc. Mind you, I know the feeling when I see the sanitised Young Ones episodes, it drives me crazy watching them!
