The Stone Roses' eponymous debut album (reissue) is just £7.99 instore at HMV. I think it's part of their Fathers' Day deals and although it is 50p more than the current Amazon price, you will of course save on shipping if you're in town anyway, as the Amazon deal requires a £20 spend for free p+p. A fantastic album and in my opinion one of the greatest debut albums ever. Although often eponymous ones are...? (The Smiths, Glasvegas, The Stooges, Roxy Music, Led Zeppelin)

Great, if your father was a druggie.

Should come in a gift set with a doobie.

Narrow minded statement. This band could play bit.

Name me a band/artist who have never been "druggies" - that's right you can't. And if you drink alcohol then you're also a "druggie'.
You sound like you're bitter you missed out.
ps "doobie" haha.

I'm sure Donkey Konk is hugely knowledgeable about Straight Edge bands. Would still be rather limiting if that's all you were willing to listen to.

What about all those straight edge punk bands like Minor Threat?

Got the original LPs for She Bangs the Drums and Waterfall up on the walls in the house. Can't really justify this as a reissue given I've got two copies on CD over the years lol

yes and rollins after black flag..good point

I had to pre-order this in my local record shop when it was first released. Probably cost this much then. I remember them cancelling a gig one night at Edwards No8 in Brum with them wandering around in massive flares outside saying the 'PA was $£'. Very annoying indeed.

I remember NOT going to see Oasis there just before they broke because the NME was reporting all their gigs were ending in riots.

Best band! best album! Bye bye badman!

I've bought about 40 albums on vinyl in the last 6 months and this stone roses pressing is the worst by far, there's so much popping in it that it's unlistenable to my ears, so much so that's I've stumped up nearly £30 for the new ltd US pressing on yellow vinyl in the hope I can actually enjoy it again! There's a reason this is cheap.

Shame they just closed their Moorgate store (again). None of the vinyl was discounted in the days up to the closure, unsurprisingly.
