Great reviews, thought it worth a go at 3 quid

Yup just used my Flamedeer voucher for this.

Cheers, this is just the sort of book I was looking for, as a gift for someone I know who lives on takeaways! probably save them a few ££'s as well, if they give it a go.

*update* now showing as Temporarily out of stock, shame! I'll check later incase it's a system glitch.

Yes, I could do, but was hoping to get it delivered by Saturday to go with a birthday gift, and obviously no guarantee of that, still for £3, it might be worth getting anyway, it'll just be a late surprise!

Also on Play at same price and in stock.

my sister has it and shes made the kebab, chicken nuggets and big mac, mcdonalds sausage and pancakes and they were really good.

Are these much healthier to make at home or are they just as bad? I suppose you could tweak the ingredients a bit to make them slightly better?

Maccy D's chips are McCain French Fries.

Good book. On here before Christmas which is when I ordered it.

Awesome book! Macdonalds Pancakes and Sausage recipes are delish

I love this book!

@davesherman MUCH healthier than buying in a takeaway. The curries etc aren't greasy, I done the burgers on the george foreman and practicallty all the fat drained out etc etc.

Cheaper and healthier, I wouldn't be without mine now!

Searching.....help.

I'd guess that the tips would be something like "drown in salt" but saying as it's getting so much praise, there must be more to it. May give it a go.

I know the author of this book and can vouch for just about every recipe as 10/10 very easy to follow ! The guy has went through a lot perfecting these recipes it's really a bargain at the original price never mind this

just bought it off play.com. In stock and the same price so thumbs up

type 'the takeaway secret book pdf' into google should be on the first page

There seem to be other similar books but none with such a personal touch / interesting story to the author.
Cook books don't need to be grand to be good. My best is still the one I got when I was 12 (with several cut outs in between the pages).
I've ordered and will add heat.

EDIT:

You will have seen some on the first page, now yellowsticker after me / on this page, add that his can also be purchased at play.com!

That is correct. Check it out - below, within yellowsticker's post.

I've got it and have made the doner kebab and the curries. You have to make sure you get proper measuring spoons to use as I've got it wrong a couple of times! The recipes definitely use level (ish) measuring spoons!

The kebab I made wasn't spiced enough because I couldn't believe that I had to use that much salt etc !

Also one of the curries I made was a little too spicy (hot) after I just used heaped teaspoons of the spices (just normal teaspoons, not measuring ones) but still tasted nice enough.

I think after 2-3 tries, you would get the curries down to a tee and they do taste like they are from a standard indian takeaway. I used Rajah spices which I bought from the Asda local indian section which were only 69p per bag. much better value than the asda own brand.

I grew up working in a chinese takeaway so can do better than this book on the chinese recipes though!

in case you dont want to wait for it to come back in stock at Amazon..

Heat added.
Me and my wife have given up takeouts for a year now so this would be nice to try.
If they're not that healthy I'm sure we can tweak them when we cook...right?!

If you look on the first page, a few have countered similar doubts. It seems that the recipes are not at all a problem, in that area.

Just cooking for yourself ought to be healthier than eating out.

Word meaning reversal technique, if you cook at home it is no longer a takeaway! It is similar to buying "restaurant" meals at supermarkets and then cook and wash-up at home. Then it is not a restaurant meal when eaten at home. Likewise for mobile, phone unlimited internet is limited.

1-2 weeks despatch with Play

Any chance someone can pm me a link to the download..can't seem to find it

Making a takeaway style meal at home is nothing like unlimited internet being limited!!!

^Yeah I found that comparison utterly retarded too...

The KFC recipe is disgusting and nothing like the real thing.

The McDs burger sauce is pretty accurate but the curries are super basic and very unauthentic.

Just about worth £3 I would say but no more.

I did the opposite, as play stated in stock but upon ordering stated awaiting stock. So cancelled and placed an order with amazon, which now have stock again.

Good little book, tried the sausage and egg muffins, very authentic and tasty.going to try doner kebabs next.Would think recipes can be tweaked a little to cut out a few calories !
