The Tale of Mr Tumble - Opera House, Manchester - Adult Tickets from £12

Found 24th Nov 2014
CBeebies Live, Mr Tumbles Circus is touring in April & we were looking at tickets for the Manchester dates but as it's at such a big venue we thought the children probably wouldn't be able to see much in the cheap seats and the more expensive seats were too expensive for the 5 of us.

Today I found out that Mr Tumble will be doing a show at the Opera House in Manchester (a much more intimate venue) on various dates in July 2015. There are lots of seats left. They are also doing a scheme for people on a low income with seats starting at just £12 but these tickets are aimed at Greater Manchester residents on a lower wage.

I paid £13.25 each for 3 childrens tickets & £26.25 each for 2 adult tickets on the 3rd row!. This is still an excellent price and much more reasonable than the CBeebies tickets and at a much smaller venue. It's a perfect Christmas Pressie for the little ones

Here's what to expect....

Manchester International Festival has invited Justin Fletcher to create The Tale of Mr Tumble, a very special new show for children and their families in the glorious and intimate surroundings of Manchester’s Opera House.

This funny, moving and visually exciting show gives children the chance to see Mr Tumble live and up close as he tells his own improbable life story.

Audiences will find out exactly how he became the joyful entertainer familiar to so many, following his journey from bouncing baby Tumble (with his bright red nose already in place), through his singing and dancing school years, right up to the present day.

Mr Tumble will be joined by his friends and family including Grandpa Tumble, Justin and introducing Tootsie. Featuring songs new and old and a choir of Makaton signing stars, there will be plenty of opportunities for audience participation in this high energy event

Written by Justin Fletcher and Will Brenton, The Tale of Mr Tumble will be a real opportunity to step inside the colourful world of one of our most cherished TV characters.

The Scheme.......

For MIF13, Manchester International Festival launched a low cost ticket scheme for local audiences with the aim to make more of the the Festival more accessible to people on a lower wage.

For MIF15, the Festival has increased the available tickets from 5% to 10%. Half of these tickets are available from the box office by phone on 0844 871 7654, or online at, on a first come first served, honesty basis. The Festival will also be working with existing networks in Greater Manchester to identify audiences who qualify for this scheme.

These tickets are aimed at Greater Manchester residents on a lower wage and are available to buy in two ways. Half will be available by phone on 0844 871 7654 or online at, on a first come, first served honesty basis.
Community Updates

Will look into this tomorrow as we would qualify for cheaper tickets due to where we live. I have a son with a developmental delay who is Mr tumble mad but wouldn't cope and manage with CBeebies live (nor could my bank balance!) so thanks for sharing!
Thanks for highlighting this to me.
