The Times Newspaper Student Subscription only £20 for the year save £290

This is my first deal, seems a very good deal to me, especially for a good newspaper.

Via UniDays, students can get a 1 year subscription for the Times (and I think the Sunday Times) for only £20 per year!

I had a look on the times website and it is normaly £6 per week so £6 times 52 weeks = over £300 otherwise!

Hope this helps someone out

Please don't vote cold if your only reason is you don't like The Times, if this is the case then have a nice day and enjoy The Sun

Really? how do you get those?

only website access and smart phone access, no tablet edition (which is the best way to read, btw)!

Don't forget to cancel at the end of the subscription year if you don't want to continue as this is a 4 year rolling contract.

Great deal even though a shame no tablet edition.

It's only showing as 50% off just the Financial Times according to my unidays app

The Times used to be a classy paper before Murdoch got his grubby hands on it and it's certainly better than the Sun but there are other newspapers you know and classier ones.

By subscribing you become a member of Times+. Every week you get BOGOF Odeon tickets for use at the weekend. They also have weekly competitions, and giveaways such as Kindle books and preview screenings. Well worth it!

This subscription is only for the limited phone app, it does not work the tablet app (which is where the full articles and issues are). The price comparison is not really valid - the value is in the digital edition is being able to read the full paper, which you can't do with this £20 deal. You are able to access the website under this deal though.

The website is rather sneaky and does not make this distinction clear - almost as if the Murdoch empire doesn't have an open, fair and transparent culture.

Last time I did this I only got access to the website, not the app, has this now changed?

The Times has the best puzzle page

Times +, comes with the digital offer (ive got it but I would check it comes with this offer). there are member rewards such as those above. The cinema tickets are a bit like SeeFilm First and are adhoc.

tastecard? does it work at the kebabby?

I remember eating out maybe once a term when I was a student. Apart from a greasy spoon most weekends! Good old T.W.A.T cafe (The Warm As Toast before anyone gets upset ;))

Yea when I was at poly I spent my money on beer and some chips afterwards, but I thought things had changed these days, even fresher's week is like a convent so I hear, half price prezzo pizza should suit the new wave just fine!

Have you heard of freedom of speech or do Times readers look down on such things?

I got it at the start of the year and has paid for itself with free cinema movies and using the taste card.

usually a free cinema movie a week

Hmmm...in the days of the Polytechnics, which were gradually phased out after 1992, students got reasonably sized grants -- which of course they didn't have to pay back. Surely you could have afforded more than just beer and chips?

Wikileaks is better and free
