Doesnt require much effort to put someone down for putting effort into making a thread!

Heat added, thanks OP! Its always refreshing to see when people put real effort into a thread and not just another "voucher code" deal!

Is it just me or do the links not work?

Sorry, working now

If you can't say anything helpful, best not to say anything at all.

Actually I spent a good few hours pulling all this together. Most of the prices here aren't posted individually anyway.

I will be adding internals SSD and HDD later. That's taking a long while to pull together as there are soooo many different drives!

Yeah my bad - the Argos links were broken (can't use search result URL it seems), but they're sorted now.

I can't fix the main deal link though. I wanted it to go to the cheapest 1TB, but as I used the search link, it just goes to a blank page :-(

I just bought today seagate 3.0 500GB for 35 quid, used £10 of Argos voucher, £35 is good price for 500GB ? looking for 1TB minimum but little tight on budget as just change my laptop.

What's the difference between basic portable and premium portable, looks like I bought the basic one ??????

Yep, that's a good price. Even better with the voucher!

The gap is closing between 500GB and 1TB. I get the feeling that 500GB is virtually at rock bottom now. In fact, from looking at Amazon, £34.99 is the lowest price that drive has ever been:

I wish you could be somebody else for a day to realise how boring and petulant your voucher code comments are becoming.

When I say "basic," I mean it's a standard drive with a USB cable. The "premium" drives are the more expensive versions, with backup and/or encryption software, available in multiple colours and often made of more expensive materials.

For example:

Seagate Backup Plus has a part-metal case, automatic Facebook/Mobile/PC backup, and the 2TB is the slimmest of all the 2TB portable drives available.
WD Passport Ultra is in 4 colours and has automatic backup and encryption capabilities.

All comes down to how many games you're going to store on it. Halo MCC is a monster at almost 60GB and you don't need many games that size before you're going to run out of space.

If you can, I'd highly recommend getting a 2TB portable. The Seagate 2TB is £59.99 on Amazon if you don't mind waiting, or is £64.99 from Argos if you want it straight away. Has a 2-year warranty and is the one I've got plugged into my Xbox.

Thanks for the effort. Awesome post. Any chance of including best internal drive prices?

Yep, I'm working on it!

Seems obvious to say, but Flubit!

OP, will this keep being updated like the SIM Only megathread or is it a one-off post?

Voted hot anyway.

Which 2TB would you recommend d for PS4. The 500gb just doesn't cut it anymore

Great post! Gotta pick up a 2tb for my xbo!
