The Vauxhall ADAM for £33.99 per week from Peter Vardys!

I've been looking around for a cheap city car for my daughter for ages now and think I might have finally found something that she AND my wallet might like!!

We went and saw one last weekend at Peters in Kirkcaldy and I was very impressed by the quality of the Adam, not only that but it was really well bulit for the money - doors make a good solid clunk. The only downside was the 3 trim levels which vary wildly in price. The Jam - which is the base model has a DAB radio and alloys but apart from that you don't get much. However when I enquired about a price things got better.

Peter vardys can do it for £147 per month on a personal contract hire deal with a tiny deposit, where as Arnold's who I visited afterwards could only do £238 per month with the same deposit, ok its on a different deal but its got heaps of interest. Now ill admit I wasn't sure about contract hire but it makes sense on a car like this as residual values are fantastic so it wont loose much - a bit like the Mini's.
Currently struggling to find many reasons not to go for it as it looks like this car is definitely the new one to be seen in this year. Plus, the daughter loves it!
Might find myself down at Peters this weekend!

Ps. the reason I said £33.99 in the title is because it goes up to this after 3 months...

named after Adam Opel

Whilst the true cost of ownership is found via the link, it would have made some sense to include in the OP's post.

£858 Deposit
£29.99 / week for 3 months
£33.99 / week for 45 months

Assume 52 weeks x 4 = 208

£29.99 x 13 = £389.97
£33.99 x 195 = ££6628.05

Total for 4 years = £7876.02 = average £37.87 / week

You should put this in the title.

or 36.99 for 5 years with a £1000 px allowance and £750 deposit and the cars yours??

squillion

I think you are correct that the title is wrong but it should be the total payable, like a phone contract. Also, the site shows that the "3 months" is 11 weekly payments not 13 therefore your average is out by a small margin.

Residual values for Vauxhall are atrocious and this model is not likely to be any better.

Snomaes

Vauxhall is atrocious period. Tried to tell me that my brake calipers seizing after 10K miles was down to dirt & debris picked up from the road!

Having driven an Insignia for three years and now an Astra GTC, I can only offer praise to the Vauxhall dealer network. Cartainly as good, if not better than my experience in the past with Audi or VW.
