A battle of gigantic proportions is looming in the neon underground of New York City. The armies of the night number 100,000; they outnumber the police 5 to 1; and tonight they're after the Warriors - a street gang unfairly blamed for a rival gang leader's death.

This contemporary action-adventure story takes place at night, underground, in the sub-culture of gang warfare that rages from Coney Island to Manhattan to the Bronx. Members of the Warriors fight for their lives, seek to survive in the urban jungle and learn the meaning of loyalty.

You had better imagine it, the bluray version is awesome, the remastering job done on it is amazing.

Warriors... com out to play-ay!

Amazing film, not seem it in years. If the Blu-ray is good I may have to look at getting that.

Great film. I have this disk but its a bit disappointing because its a re-edit... I had more comic book style transitions which for me take something away from the film. If you can get your hands on the first dvd release get that one instead though as a fan it is worth having both copies for the comparison and for the other extras on this disk (which are not many but at least something). I'd usually say, for the price, this is great but it will depend on your reaction to the new edit.

Saw it recently, and I don't remember everyone looking so camp!

oO blasphemer

Has it the more modern music, or the original ?
The original was good, the newer effing awful

great movie.

First saw this soon after release and thought it was a really great movie, was full of suspense and - at the time - thought it was a very violent film. Was in my top ten films.

Didn't see it again for about 25 years and REALLY REALLY looked forward to seeing it again.

However I shook my head in disbelief......it was errrr, cheesy. And once I saw it as cheesy, I could not get back to it being a violent movie.

I started to question things. Would one of the gangs really wear that much make up? And the DJ was like someone off hospital radio, whereas before I thought they were evil. And the guy saying "CAN WE DIG IT?".....just seemed to invite a "YES WE CAN" in my head.

I guess it goes to show how WRONG you can be about a movie. Does anyone else feel the same way? I suppose if I hadn't seen it 30 years ago and was watching it for the first time now then I would see it as a good film. So why do I feel this way !?

"I'll stuff that bat up your ass and turn you into a popsicle!"

Still love this film no plot holes, no overdone spec effects, classic period soundtrack.

This is the comic book version so i'll skip this

I won't watch this film again for these reasons. I don't want to spoil the memories.

Yes, keep the memories which are far better than re-watching.

It's daft but when Michael Jackson's video for the song "Bad" came out it was obviously a copy of The Warriors (he did it with Beat It too) but it was just far too camp to take seriously !

But when I re-watched The Warriors, I began to think that Michael Jackson was going to pop up any moment and grab his crotch. It was as if it was one l-o-n-g Michael Jackson video.

Yes - sometimes things are best left unwatched !
