Best TV show ever IMHO.
Infinitely rewatchable
Very wary of even going near starting Series 1 Episode 1 as I know my life for the following 2 months will be forfeit.

Best thing that's ever been on a telly.

I found it to be too idealistic and left wing.

Totally agree, if by idealistic and left wing you mean, rational people trying to solve complex issues without being driven by the thought od lining their own pockets

Best TV show ever IMHO.
Great series watch all 7 series last year. By the way CEX sell the dvd for £1 per series
Cheers, had a little bit of Play credit sitting too.
Fantastic show, bought back in March for £65 on Sky Store.

Ooh, now I'm severely tempted.. I had the first two seasons already, I could nab the rest for £15ish including shipping - way cheaper than the £40-£50 the full box set is on DVD, even if it is second-hand..
I used to pay about £40 per series back in the day. One of the best bits of TV ever.

I was tempted by the DVDs but some very bad reviews of amazon of them, essentially not lasting and becoming defective after a period of time.
It's on Netflix USA, may be cheaper to use a VPN.

Best TV series ever, about to rewatch as my wife has never watched it.
The main advantage over DVD is the HD versions are only available digitally (no Blu Ray release likely ever).
They are shot beautifully on film so look good in HD - but the DVDs are fine too if as cheap as £1 a season it's a bargain.

I watch this every year or so. Seasons 1-4 are some of the best TV ever written. After Sorkin left in Season 5 it loses it's way a bit but improves a lot in S6 and S7 - not as great as it was but still some of the best TV about.

Agreed
Still not sure what "Series ob1" means...? Don't remember a Star Wars cameo...

Definitely. Probably the only series I have rewatched in full more than once. At least 4 times all 7 series. Soon to be 5...
I don't think anything will beat The Sopranos for me.
I love it but it's very much a fantasy version of politics. They are all decent people giving their lives to make their country better for everyone - which is not something found often LOL. But if you focus on the characters and their interactions then it's brilliant.

Probably my 2nd favourite

Agreed. Its a little romanticised to say the least, but in a world where a giant orange baby can become president, I'd rather live in dream land! Lol
Best TV series ever? QTWTAIN. It is very good though.

Of course its all subjective... So your favourite would be....?

Well I'm backing the field so I like my odds. I'd say The Sopranos.
Outstanding series. Would find it too depressing to watch now given our current state
I found it to be too idealistic and left wing.
Best TV show of all time
One of best shows I've watched. The live debate episode is a particular highlight.

The show The Newsroom was just as good. Same writers which explains why
I still think Martin Sheen should stand for president. He has a history of activism (he likes to boast about how many times he's been arrested). If he got Aaron Sorkin to write his speeches he'd be unbeatable - the orange narcissist wouldn't stand a chance.

Oh didn't the leftie swallow the worm.....
I bought this from Amazon when they were £7 a season. Good deal - wife watches on loop.

If you like them then look up Sportsnight as it too is an Aaron Sorkin written series
The whole thing is available on US Netflix. If you have access to Netflix and a vpn.
It's superb, but I'm not sure I could ever watch it through end to end again, there aren't enough hours in the day.

Basically find anything written by Aaron Sorkin. I can also recommend "Sports Night" and "Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip"

Loved Studio 60; such a shame it didn’t get a chance to develop and breathe, but that’s internal network politics for you.

I think his sex addict junkie son might be an issue.

Also, I would not be surprised if Martin Sheen himself is not as squeaky clean as he appears, certainly liked a drink and a snifter back then....he's a great actor though.

I’m pretty sure he’s been clean since the Apocolypse Now days.
Great show, has such a warmth to it. It'll just make the current demagogue in the WH (and indeed no 10) seem all the more depressing..

Best show for me is still The Wire though (and Better Call Saul's running it close..)
