The White Company - Gloucester Quays CLOSING DOWN SALE

12
Found 7th Feb 2014
The White Company store based at Gloucester Quays is closing as their lease is up on their premises.

They have up to 70% off the RRP on products and I imagine the discounts will get better before the 22nd of Feb which is the stores last day.

Popped in today and they have some cracking deals of Towels, Bedding and Fragrances.

*Just a note it's only the White Company in Gloucester Quays which is closing down all other stores are remaining open.

When you popped in, did the staff say if another store was replacing the end of lease one? Very unusual for Chrissie to close a store off like that?

If you've been to the Gloucester Quays outlet you'd understand why.

50% + of the units are empty and the whole place feels terrible for it. Even at weekends the place never feels busy.

It's no wonder they're closing down. Mediocre product at inflated prices.

It's horrible in there, few bargains in Musto, Gap if they have extra off but the place is nearly always empty compared with Bicester or other outlet.

I have to correct you Stuart, Gloucester Quays is in fact nearly 90% let, just two units are empty in the inner mall with nearly sixty stores. Crew Clothing, The North Face, All Saints, Jacques Vert, Zizzi, The Real China, Chimichanga's and a massive Cineworld have all opened with the last two months and more to come with the jobs being advertised. The White Company are appearentely closing all OUTLET stores as part of change of direction as it's directing trade away from full retail stores and this center has been increasing its footfall all the time...Outlet centres take years to establish themselves. Sorry to go but it does help to have the facts, as published in local press here...

I'm not sure where you get the 90% figure from, according to the interactive map on their official site there's 14 empty units in the inner hall.

90% of the space may be let, as the anchor stores will take most of it, but in terms of actual units there are 62 in the inner hall and 14 are empty (23%) add the additional 30 empty units outside and that's 47.8% of units empty.

I think my rounding up to 50% is more than justified.

Also of the three listed outlet stores on the White Company website, only Gloucester is listed as closing down.

I'll not post three times to make my point

Stuart, Have you actually been to Gloucester Quays recently? Trust me, there is only two empty units left in the inner mall and 7 at push outside as part of phase 2/Quayside quarter. That's 9 empty and with jobs being advertised for undisclosed operators, this can only be good news. I find your summation of 44 empty units very misleading by using out of date data...not your fault if using the sites leasing plan? But the letting is alot nearer 90%, than your misquoted less than 50%, its laughable if you where go there...the evenings have become increasing busy with five restaurants opened in as many months with at least two more in the works, Coal, Bar & Grill and TBA. Peel have also stated that more big branded names are to be revealed by Easter. Outlet stores come and go all the time, even from very successly centers and with year on, year out vistor numbers going up...watch that Gloucester Quays place become bigger and bigger...Sorry to go on my friend but challenge you to go visit again and see if you contnue to state above!!!

Why do I get the feeling you work at Gloucester Quays? I last visited about 6 months ago.

This is where I get the list of stores

If the website designer is too lazy to update their own interactive map, then anyone thinking of visiting is going to see exactly what I did. A centre with nearly 50% of it's unit empty.

Walked past this store for the last two days too and from work and it's been packed! Things are 70% off or more now. They only have a week left and looks like they want to sell everything!
