Together with The Who's Next album , this the Who's finest hour.
But reading the Amazon reviews some of the customers who bought this remastered edition have said it has been tinkered with to the extent that the sound is different from the original album as opposed to just being cleaned up.
I am tempted to get this, but wondered if anyone who already has this can comment on this
Thanks
Boz

There might be some confusion between the original double-album released 1973 and the soundtrack to the film 'Quadrophenia' released 1979. The tracks on the soundtrack album (the one with Phil Daniels on the front cover) were remixed by John Entwistle for the movie.

Yes could be I have this on 2CD & Vinyl but quite a few comments on Amazon.co.uk state that the album has been remixed as opposed to remastered .. and bits are clearly missing

Remixed? Re-blooming-mixed? That's sacrilage!!!

Bllomin' hot

This is one top REAL music album. No rappin', yappin', synth-voiced dross here ... no V Festival tosh/pseudomusic thanks .. this is from the days when music was played by .. oddly ... musicians and not produced "bands". Rant over .. phew ... anyway another album to look out for on eBay usually is the Who's Tommy Symphonic version ... really good ... anyway ... great deal!!!

scorching

I have this on vinal, and loved Toms performance on Live Aid - but I just can't tempt myself to buy this, as the reviews as some od you have already said are all saying that the CD is NOT the same as the original soundtrack / vinal, and whilst not exactly expensive, I just cant be tempted just in case the comments are right! xxxx

mint album ! Enough said !

BELL BOY !!!!!

Was £3.49 on Amazon and Play a couple of weeks back, but still a good price.

Great album. Paid - after saving up - £4.10 for the original double gatefold sleeve with the booklet of black and white gritty grainy images. Think a single album was around £2.65
5:15 always a great single.

Plugging in that £4.10 in the 'Historic inflation calculator' here thisismoney.co.uk/his…tor gives a today equivalent price of £39.81!

ps The 180gram vinyl album is £22 at H.M.V, 200gram = £55.00

I'll agree with that... Although I must admit to veering off a bit in the early 90's but that was induced by other things... ALWAYS drew the line at rap with a capital C though. Heheh!

Absolutely... I was given it a few weeks ago and smiled politely and threw it in the drawer. I then bought a Queen one in error but played it. Fantastic. Out came Tommy and guess what... Fantastic!

Yes The Prodigy are the only 'new' band from the Nineties with original music ...fact. Anyway I only heard the symphonic version of Tommy's I'm Free off We7.com and wanted and got the whole deleted album! Nice

This is the same cd that I bought from a sale at Norwich Virgin Megastore a couple of years before it closed for £4. I gave this cd to my Dad for Christmas, although I listened to it more than him.....now I have ordered my own copy.

Assuming this cd will be the same, it is in one of those fat cd boxes with a great booklet- a mini version of the LP booklet with black and white photos/artwork.......aren't cds much more worth buying than itunes mp3s!!

Thanks op
