Got a code, Thanks OP..

All righty, the code giveaway is back on. Right now we're having to limit … All righty, the code giveaway is back on. Right now we're having to limit it to existing Ars accounts only, since many thousands of bots trying to simultaneously register for Ars accounts was killing the site pretty hard. We've got registration temporarily disabled for now, but we'll re-enable it shortly once we have another workaround in place. Who knew that the word "free" could cause so much chaos?

Can't register... Website playing up
SADLY , it said...... Our apologies, but Ars registration is temporarily close for required maintenance... but im willing to wait patiently, then I strike for this Freebies.
accidental DDoS
Haha, love it when HUKD brings a website to a stand still, especially for a freebie
Rather helpfully, I had registered a while back with Ars Technica so managed to grab this freebie - thanks OP

just checked the site and the current message is:

Ars Technica has teamed up with GOG.com to give away free copies of The Witcher Enhanced Edition. These codes are only available for a limited time so grab yours today! (You'll need a free Ars account in order to claim a code.)

Our apologies, but Ars registration is temporarily close for required maintenance.
Still broken............I wonder if they realised this would happen, how could they not have expected a huge hit on their servers?!?
They've restored free keys. Now only email is needed.
HOWEVER, the key is dud - not redeemable at GOG with message "code already redeemed"

Anyone else seeing this?
Finally working now. Code works fine. Cheers for the post.
How long does it take for the email to come through?
Thanks! Email came straight away :-)
Superb game, has aged well IMO. Spent many hours on it!
Great, thanks for posting. Original link and registration working fine.
Worked first time, cheers

I requested a key again today with same email, the new key worked.
Added heat for those that can get the game to work, but it refuses to run on any of the five systems I have access to here for various different claimed reasons (all of which are nonsense). So glad I didn't actually pay for this failure.
i didn't receive a code
The giveaway is over according to the link
Got the game working now, works great under Linux, but still won't install/load under windows LOL
I've had problems getting witcher 1 working on windows 10 as well, it installs but then gives me a "had to close" error at start up.
