I know that this may have been posted some time back, but well worth a look again as they are still blimming cheap.

We're now able to offer an exclusive range of Single Vision prescription glasses for just £5 for Full Rimmed and £8 for Semi-Rimless frames, but that's not all... We firmly believe in not hiding any hidden costs for highly recommended 'optional extras' so each pair in our cheap glasses range includes a FREE scratch resistant coating, full UV protection and anti-reflection treatment!

We strongly believe you will be hard pushed to find a better value pair of glasses complete with UV, Anti-Reflection and Scratch Resistant coatings anywhere else, so get your order in quickly as availability is limited.

this could be just what i was after! i dont want to take my expensive specs to the festivals this year.

thanks

Any one used these before ?. seems ideal to get a few spare pairs

The cheapest frames are not all that stylish but very functional and I certainly reccomend them.

Thanks for the heads just ordered.

I ordered a few of these last time, good quality but did take the full 1 month for delivery...

thanks will be nice to have a spare pair or two at this price lol

I recently got reading glasses from them. Perfectly fine. Unlike the general/distance ones I got from goggles4u which broke on the day of arrival. Very unsatisfactory customer service as they refused to fasttrack my replacement order, despite waiting 3 weeks already!

goggles4u are cheaper and I've always had good service from them.
Still a hot deal though.

Bought some glasses from this company, very cheap and quality is ok. delivery times are a bit long but worth it for the saving. Never again will I buy my glasses from the high street. You will need you PD measurement and most opticians not willing to provide this with your prescription, just go to a local opticians and ask for this and mention that you are willing to pay. After you get this measurement you will be sorted for life.

PD is really simple and you can just use a ruler
Measure the distance from the outer pupil of one eye to the inner pupil of the other eye
A for mono PD measure from the centre of the nose bridge to each pupil
To make sure you have done this correctly
The mono PD of the right and left should equal the PD

Ordered some last month and were here in two weeks - amazing value for money!

Sounds cracking deal although the website is very slow.

Don't know where they got £8.50 from, as soon as I clicked upgrade these frames it jumped to £17.50.
Suppose you have to just go straight to Buy

cheers

these are very poor quality glasses ,ive had 2 pairs from them and they become loose after a week ,and bits like screws will become loose, and nose pads fall off ,and when you email them they'll take 2 weeks to reply ,and then they'll charge you for any bits you need ,avoid at all costs ,dissapointed in these ..

I've used this company before and they've been fine every time. Im going to order a pair! Heat added!

I bought specs from this company but couldn't see through them. Company asked to verify my prescription, but I didn't bother. I'll stick to my local optician.

i can SEE the advantage of getting these. LOOKING for a good pair

Hmmm, I think this is the same company that's based in China that I was looking to buy from a year or so ago but was put off by too much negative feedback.

I ended up paying a bit extra at Metsuki and got superb service.

Nice and cheap second pair. Cheers for posting this.

Business address is a P.O. Box number.

No thanks.

Just had a second pair delivered a wek ago, 3rd order from them, one broke and I had a replacement sent.

ordered chose and upgrade. worth the punt just to check em out cost me near 500 quid for my last 2 pairs:(. so heres hoping

unbelievable price, scortchio

how do i get my PD?

you really do need some new glasses, check post #10 in this thread

The problem with getting specs of the internet is that you cant try them on to check how they sit on your nose. I've ordered 3 or 4 pairs in the past, but don't currently wear any of them as they just don't "feel right".

If you have difficulty getting an accurate measurement because it's difficult to know the angle of the ruler against your face when looking in a mirror, especially if you have astigamatism or an awkwardly shaped face - take a photo of yourself using flash, using photo edit software turn into B&W and define the outline of your face and print 1:1.. use this as a stencil and cut out the shape from a cardboard box ie. dog biscuit box. Placed this on your face, this gives you a perfect right angle.. bind it in place with gaffer tape to keep it steady... now hold the ruler against this, and focus on 0mm with your right eye. Make a note of what number you see with your left eye if you look straight ahead. This is your PD. It's an approximate technique, but cheaper than going to the optiicians. Good luck.

I've just bought new glasses from Tesco, might get a few spares. The PD thing I might struggle with, so I'll ask for a hand!

The thing is, my optician said I have "slight astigmatism" but the contact lenses I bought for my new prescription are ordinary ones. Will I be ok ordering from here?

seems a good deal

I have ordered from this company last year and last month, 3 week delivery but good quality glasses and perfect presciption, no problems at all

Mine fell apart after a week and they would not replace them.

I got some glasses from SelectSpecs a couple of years ago. I'm still using them and have never had any problems.

I've ordered/received 2 pairs from this company and they should NOT be used as a regular pair of glasses.
I only used one pair (second as a back up) for watching tv only and they have developed a chip on the bottom of each lense after only a couple of weeks useage.

I wouldn't order from them again, but then again I don't use them on a regular basis.

Save up and go for laser eye treatment instead

I asked about laser treatment but as I have quite dry eyes with contacts (I'm 38 now, never used to get dry eyes) the optician said I'd be using lubricating drops all day!

why didnt my thread get a mention on bitterwallet or on todays hottest when I posted it a couple of months back...ffs lol.

Good site though currently wearing my rimless glasses I picked up for about 30 quid off this site

You would initially, however, you should be fine after a couple of months. You should go to a laser treatment centre for a consultation and they will tell you whether you will need to use drops forever more.
To be honest its not in any opticians interest to promote eye laser treatment

Would be careful ordering online. Glasses are NOT covered by distance selling regulations, so if you are not happy - tough.

With these selectspecs specifically I ordered a pair which were not as described on their website. These were the 3rd pair from them over several years, I thought they'd been good up until then, but couldn't believe how difficult they became when I had a problem. Took over 6 months and significant trouble to get my money back

Would now only buy from an online site with a money back promise.

thought they are based in Kent though but the glasses are shipped from HK. I guess you couldnt resolve it with them then from your above statment.

Anyway tbh at 8.50 you're taking a punt, these frames wont be the best quality etc but good for a spare pair for going away/the car etc
