The World’s First Cheese Advent Calendar available at Asda on the 9th of Nov.

Found 1st Nov
Asda’s new Cheese Advent Calendar will be available in Asda stores from 9th November with a RRP of £8.
24 mini 20g cheeses including Red Leicester, Wensleydale and cranberries, mature Cheddar, Jarlsberg, and Applewood from Ilchester cheese makers in Somerset.

Well it looks like Asda supplied the wrong date so I have changed it accordingly.

This will go fantastic with my Aldi wine advent calander. If only someone would bring out a chutney advent calander now!
I draw a line at a cracker calander though.... Who am I kidding. I'd buy that too!

Gosh, put absolutely anything in a box with numbered doors on and we'll buy it. Shows just how desperate we are getting to buy something, anything as long as it's different. How did us adults cope when it was just the kids with Advent calendars? When I was little it was the same religious calendar that came out every year and I had to wait my turn as it was shared between all my siblings. The retailers see us coming.
I want one!

This rates highly, anything involving cheese gets my vote! The cheese Easter egg Iceland did was mmmmm too!

Shame there are not 24 different cheeses. I'm not a fan of Applewood or I would get this.

Don't forget fine Italian and Spanish meats advent calendar!

+1 Should be at least 12 different cheeses.

John Lewis have a gin advent calendar for only £100.

Value? It’s 42p for each mini cheese in the advent calendar. As they’re 20g, that’s 480g of cheese in total – equal to £20.83 per kg. When we looked, packs of mini cheeses, including four of the cheeses in the calendar, were £13ish-£15ish per kg in supermarkets.

Oh cool. This is a great advent calendar to give to someone who hates chocolate (yes, people like that exist ). Cheers OP, have some heat!

Nice idea but at an equivalent price of £16.66 kg I'll pass on this until they reduce them

Love it count me in.Who dosent like cheese. My little girl would prefer this to chocolate

I'm thinking of getting this for my teenage boy. I got the No.7 calendar for my 17yr old daughter, the Disney Animators calendar for my 8yr old daughter but there is NOTHING out there for a teenage boy other than the standard chocolate calendars.

If anyone has seen any advent calendars that would appeal to a 15yr old boy then by all means let me know!...FYI, we have a running joke about cheese after a line he had in a school play so slightly more appropriate than chocolate. I've seen the Pringles calendar in B&M but again, all these calendars aren't really up to the spec of what's available for girls or adults.

Only 5 different types of cheese in it!

What a stupid idea!

Get 24 different types in!

And how does anybody classify this as "the worlds first"

Wow, you sound fun!

A lot more fun than someone that gets excited about a cheese calender!

And if you want a real fun guy check out the person above who actually used advanced maths to work out the inherent value of the cheese! Lol

+1 also. There are literally tens of thousands of cheese out there. 24 shouldn't be hard to find...

Errrrr it came from MSE.. this is a deals website - to get the best deal. I don't see this as a deal, sorry! People seem to be quick to throw their money at something as long as it's packaged and branded right tho, eh

My son got a Haynes build your own radio advent last year, he’s 10, not sure how that would suit at 15 but he loved it! Totally agrees with you that it’s limited for the boys outside of Lego!

A Santa Claus? Eh? Eh?

Asda’s extra mature cheese is £3.75 for 750g, so £5 per kilo. Over 4 times as much cheese per kilo than the advent calendar.

It says 9th and 6th (at the bottom of the page) in the article. So which one is it
