I saw somebody else had posted some electrolux toys, and i also noted this had money off and seems to be the cheapest around so I thought i would perhaps guilt other parents into buying it for their little angels like i am about to

Bargain, pity I don't have any toys to wash though!

verrry cold as it's not Miele. Then again it would cost 3 times that of the other two.

Well, I didn't really think it needed an explanation, but if it needs clarification, see the comment above by red23 (post #11)

a little sexist but hey ho. the idea actually came from a friends son who also enjoys playing with a toy washing machine. toys that traditionally were viewed as for girls or for boys are no longer viewed in this way even if it makes some people uncomfortable.

see:- amazon.co.uk/pro…ing

two reviews there related to sons who play with them.

That doesn't clarify to me why you ask. Sorry.

I thought it would be obvious and needed no further explanation but seems not. I was referrring to the fact that the vast majority of people (YES bouncy! Even in these supposedly enlightened times and across ALL classes) would ever dream of buying this 'toy' for a boy. Parents, and in particular mothers - who for some strange reason are their own worse enemy in this regard - continue to perpetuate and reinforce the idea that a female's role is to take on all things domestic and they start that indoctrination from the moment they're toddlers and it's clear by bouncy's response that it is so deeply engrained and entrenched that they don't even realise it.

Oh i think i have myself covered on that one, im not perpetuating a stereo type, my child likes playing with our washing machine so ill get her one she can play with without breaking mine, and my previous comment covers my views,.

op - thank you for posting this, its just arrived & my children (a boy and a girl for what its worth - who both have clothes & will both have to do laundry at some point in life!) love it. Best £10 I've spent in a while. Brilliant

a pleasure. i haven't unboxed mine yet, waiting for Easter to give my little angel as a present in lieu of a deluge of eggs (don't want her eating too much chocolate, loL)
