Wow.
So I just called them to cancel the SIM I ordered yesterday...
They employ morons. Dull and unhelpful. I told her I placed an order last night and wanted to cancel as the plans cam't be capped and that's nod suitable for my needs, she asked me for the phone number! She pretty much said "OK that's been cancelled for you, ok bye." I had to interrupt her to get some final details.

If you're thinking of going with TPO, I strongly recommend that you give them a call and ask a few complicated-ish questions to get a feel for them.

Someone have iD mobile sim card? Any reviews about this network?

Will never go back to TPO after they switched over to three and refused to carry over customers credit.

Plus you had to then buy a Three network compatible phone.

Took 6 month of emails until they agreed by changing their provider they could no longer provide a service we had paid for nor could now use.

Some very nasty emails came from them that most people would have backed down, which I guess was their hope!

Even though its on the three network

Yes............... I can add that I've been with most direct mobile phone service providers plus tried the piggybackers, the overall quality from the piggybackers is less than direct service providers, less signal (actually emergency phone calls only with TPO inside), lesser quality calls, data takes a while to connect and then is poor quality despite being "4G", then add the dire customer service........ The only company I would have recommended which did piggyback was LIFE, customer service was the best, I set up lots of peeps with them and knew a chunk of the peeps by name via their social media page, any problems? - sorted within a couple of minutes - sadly that's long gone now and Plusnet refuse to reply to messages..... So yes, regardless, I'm going back to "Three" as the signal was miles better than it's piggybacker TPO , plus better quality of calls and data

For £4 per month, it's a winner.

£3 a month my friend

I have no problems with the TPO.

I get better signal than Life/Plusnet but that is only down to my location. I left Life/Plusnet as calls kept dropping and I'd regularly get "no service" which could only be resolved by making and then cancelling a call.

I was worried about the TPO's alleged poor customer service, but I never need to call my mobile provider for anything at all. I struggle to think of a reason why I'd need to! I never port numbers, I've found it too much hassle, and changing numbers isn't a problem for me.

For £4 per month, it's a winner.

Gave TPO 1 months notice on my PAC code, they told me to contact them on the 22nd - which I did - too around a dozen emails to them over the following two days to get a reply as they were leaving me potentially with another contract with O2 because if the pac wasn't transferred then apparently I would be stuck with O2.... Anyways......... TPO told a lot of porkies, missed out all of the parts of the complaint that they couldn't answer truthfully to and to finish that off the reception is dire, the data is very very slow even with the 4G signal..........

If you don't mind dire, lying customer services plus want stress and don't mind your phone becoming a tin can with string, and the person you are speaking to constantly complaining about the quality of the calls - then TPO is for you.....

Apparently the £50 for eu roaming is old policy, so they will activate eu roaming free of charge now. Issue still with ringing 073 numbers, waiting 1 more day on resolution or im offski to plusnet.

DO NOT BUY.

The concept of dirt-cheap 4G service on a monthly contract with reasonable number of minutes (and some data) is very nice.

Contacting the customer service is awkward via the supplied forms, you have to give your details all the time for a new request, despite having a my-account service (where I expected to be able to chat with them, or open tickets without hindrance).

I needed to contact CS for the third time in a month for stuff which I did not think would even need human interaction:

- the documented default PINs do not work (or just not obviously explain the difference between US and UK documents) - lost service for about half a day until they got me the PUK
- transferring number did not work - when given again the same details, it was all right. Took about 3 working(!) days to set up to happen the next day; of course it didn't. Or at least the old SIM stopped working, the number was just not moving over. They claim it can take over three working(!) days, but of course the old SIM was disconnected at the earliest time (grmbl), but the number did not start working for two days.
- EU roaming in theory is free now (yet?), but NO roaming is configured for pay monthly customers. You need to request it specifically, pay a quite hefty deposit, and send copies of bank account statements as you are a new customer. Without it, the SIM won't even connect where every other European SIM just works fine (and absolutely free).

All in all, I had no service for about four days, which probably would be resolved in 30 minutes at any other provider you know.

They are terrible and as I've mentioned in a thread before; Will vote down on every TPO link.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt about a month ago, and have really regretted it! Tried to port my number over to them, and the process took over 3 weeks, during which time I didn't have service on both my old network and on TPO. Be warned...

That's a 12 month contract, not a monthly one.
Also, the deal seems to be back on!

If only TPO had remained on the EE network, I'd be all over this... Three has a really weak signal around here and texts are often delayed by hours.

hotukdeals.com/dea…282

Even lower if someone is a low user. So even greater if someone is on a budget. You can buy landline phone that take a sim card then you can ditch BT's £18.99 line rental. Of course if the older person has pension credit then they can get BT Basic that is £5.10 a month but this deal and the one i posted is still less

Does this support Wi-Fi calling. Useful in areas of poor reception?

I never understood phone company's denying tethering on small data allowances, you've paid for that amount what difference does it make how you use it, plus it would actually be in their interest for you to use it all up and start to get charged loads on out of contract data.

i heard from various review sites that their customer services is crap

whats people experiencer with them

A week later and I am now up and running. They made a complete shambles of porting my number, was meant to happen Friday but didn't until late Monday, leaving me without my old number for the entire weekend. When I rang to ask what was going on didn't get very far, just told it can take up to 3 working days. Why? Every other network does it the next day. Also in pretty sure there's only about 3 people at the end of their phone lines.
But it's cheap, works (now) and signal at home is better than my old network.

What happens if you try to tether to a laptop? Is there an Android app that can make it seem like the data is going to the phone and not via the phone to a laptop?

I came across them when I fell outta love with EE, when EE took over my THEN provider of t-mobile about 5ish years ago, and scrapped everything that was good about t-mobiles plans. I used them (TPO) as a stop gap, but I guess I got a better deal from Talk Talk at the time? DON'T LAUGH, we ALL make mistakes, anyway...they did the job, and considering yer not gonna tie yerself down (as with most) to a 12/18 or 24 month contract ( it's only 30 day's) it's gotta be worth a crack, AND as a bonus (to some) TPO will donate 10% of your bill to a charity of your choice...Cancer research in my case, so me thinks...WIN WIN

But for those that can keep their data under 512MB then this is pretty good (I'm considering this). Turning my mobile data on only when you need it saves battery and allowance. Most of the time I have Wi-Fi at work and home, and Wi-Fi uses much less power than mobile data.

To update anyone who may still be reading.

I am on this plan, and received an email this evening. They are switching me from 3G to 4G from as early as Mid June (three weeks) and everyone on their network will be switched by the end of July.

The only downside for some, is that they have told me that they are switching networks from EE to Three and that I will need to unlock my phone if it's locked to EE.

Update: Received a further email as they had promised. It looks like I have to choose one of their new plans (which aren't such good value).
