Had one. The bottom rubber fell out after awhile exposing the rusted bits

The quality must have gone downhill then, I’ve had several of these. Bombproof for me and I’m not handling them gently. I binned the lids immediately as they no good to me.
I’ve not broken one yet. They lose their appearance quickly by marking easily and stain terribly with tea.
Despite these, I use mine at work and camping and love them.
They must have changed the design or plastic surround.
Oh, if anyone has one and it’s stained with tea inside, use a bit of diluted Miltons baby steriliser and they come up like new in 30 mins.

This Contigo Desk Mug for 1p more from Asda is a lot more substantial - full steel construction - and stays hotter longer.

I paid more from Amazon, but completely agree. Contigo version is marvellous. Not sure how long the coloured plastic coating over the steel would hold up in a dishwasher (feels like a film), but I wash by hand so doesn't affect me.

Beware when you wash as if water gets inside it rusts the screw at the bottom and it falls apart. Poor design and not worth the money.

My ones that look identical to the picture, don't have any screws. It's one moulded plastic surround and handle, with a metal base that's got a rubber cover. Mine have nothing to rust.
I don't know if others have had the same problem.
Maybe the 3 or so I have, are old versions.
Mine were no more than £6 each though so probably just older ones.

looks like this is a rubbish product. Can anyone vouch for similar mug at similar price which is actually any good?
