If you could post me that deal to the time machine I’d be interested in grabbing one at that priceXD
shocked to see the interest on what essentially is considered a homeowners fundamental. Given the vendor is also likely to be making a profit on the sale you have to wonder about the longevity of this product at £75. Would you really risk having to rip this out and re-plumb a new shower / tile a replacement because you cant stopping it dripping after 6 months use? Great for property developers looking for a quick win or people planning to sell in the very near future. But personally, pay the £200 extra and buy a Grohe! Removing all the guess work for the next 10years knowing spares are freely available, German engineered vs a Chinese seat shop glued. I know what id choose.

I need a replacement for mine, but am having no success in finding a set with pipe centres 80mm apart. This set is 150mm. I don't want to pull out the large format tile behind and re do new holes and refit the tile. Something like that is bound to go wrong for me

Still looking for the deal
Looks like a scudo but this brand says architekt. I can get a scudo one for £100 from local shop. Wondering which to go for. Both look same
Had the same one for about 4 years now. Excellent, no complaints
Plumworld uk often participated in the time limited 15 or 20 percent discount offers that eBay has so if you are not in a hurry for one may be can wait for the next eBay offer.
Thanks just cancelled the one I ordered last night from Victoria plum & ordered this one!

Can anyone recommend a decent mixer basin tap & mixer bath taps ? Modern and possibly waterfall style ?

Ian. Be careful on selecting the waterfall style as lots of cheap ones around of poor quality.
Some Look great from the outer finish but i have experienced some cheaper ones corroding from the inside out. I found some real good ones on eBay. Just check reviews and how reputable the trader is.

Thanks for that, I’m not too fussed about the waterfall or not that’s her indoors preference

Long as it works and doesn’t cause me grief all the time not working I’ll be happy
I'd recommend the Triton version of this, yes it's dearer but not had one single problem with it from new (8 years old). I suspect generic ones will corrode and cause problems.

At this price, you could buy it and replace it if it plays up.
Sorry to jump in, are these metal or plastic? Bought one off eBay years ago that looked nice in the pic like this, but was plastic and a bit cheap and nasty although it did have changing coloured lights which was quite cool

All the modern thermostatic mixer showers seem to have 150 mm pipe centres mate.

Might have to bite the bullet and get the plumbing adjusted - might be less work than you think if you can find matching tiles or are planning to re-tile of have any or the original tiles left?

I have had this exact shower!

If you make it past 1 year without needing to replace the thermostat I'll be surprised.

Unfortunately whilst don’t have this exact shower we recently converted two en-suites in a rental and ordered similar looking showers from Ebay - all in the 60-80 price range.

Already on close inspection some rust showing so I doubt their durability- but they work fine.

Admittedly though those are not the same as this one posted.

Doing another one right now and just bit the bullet and spent the extra on this Mira

Yes this is 2 x more expensive but I’ve had the predecessor model in my own house for about 3 years - still looks brand new

If you live in a hard water area I wouldn’t go for waterfall style as they look horrible unless you clean them daily.
I have this exact shower and it is fantastic
Looks good for the price.
Heated.

Glad you’ve had a good experience with it(y) - unlike poor Richh’s post earlier.

Also agree with Greelyi it looks nice - in fact almost identical to the ‘generic ones’ we got from Ebay; apart from the colour.

How long has been fitted mate?

Is it showing any signs of wear?

Yeah I’d second that.

Hopefuly plumbworld operate better through ebay, ordered on there site and i would never ever use them ever again. Complete joke of a company
I've only had it a couple of months it seems to b great and looks cool
Lnic10/03/2020 13:52

Plumbworld buy these from Scudo.

Good luck then... I know a business that bought huge stock of showers from them and the quality was abysmal. Pin holes and all sorts. Had to be replaced on installs, returned by customers etc. Absolute nightmare and still dont think theyve got the returns processed over 9 month period.

Honestly if they are Scudo avoid the grief.

I've just had the Scudo Lunar fitted, I would go for that as it is superior quality
- The height is adjustable for the main shower
- The main shower head is metal not plastic

Yes, I bought one about 7 years ago. The thermostat failed about 3.5 years in. But this was for a second cloakroom type shower, which hardly gets used. Unlike the high quality/branded ones, you can't get replacement individual parts.

I guess others could be lucky and get more use from it.

I understand your thinking but find they're easy to install and uninstall in my experience so not too much hassle. I installed one and 18 months in it's fine so far.

The pipe work coming in from via a internal wall into the bathroom has to be measured and plumbed in exactly per the showers specifications. Finding another shower that uses the "exact" same offset without the need to drill more holes to re-route the water inlets is "slim to none". is it really something you would chance over £100 - 150 saving? I guess it depends on how bathroom proud you are and its current condition.

Other option is to buy the same shower 3 times and hope for the best.. Else pay 3x price to begin with and get it done right from the get-go. Cheap doesn't always work cheap.

Why anyone would take the risk over such a small saving is beyond me.

Scudo are 1 man band online reseller, no showroom or physical presents other than a company house number and a registered domain name. Not sure how this makes them creditable unless i'm missing something?
