This one won't be for everyone, if you're not a fan of watches then it's not for you, for those who like watches however read on! The Watch Gallery 50% sale has had a fair number … Read more

Honestly, what's the point of them listing a watch that is sold out? All the good automatic watches listed that are worth their salt appear to be sold out. The nice automatic Oris watches, for example, around the sale £500 are all sold out. Just a crafty way to palm off a load of sub £1000 naff fashion quartz watches and mix them up with decent "sold out" sub £1000 automatic watches ... clever sales tactics going on here. Don't fall for the prices of the watches over £1000 - generally all poor sellers and not particularly respected amongst watch afficionados.

I even spotted a woman's tag heur quartz watch for around £800 ... give me a break!! lol ... it has it's place and i don't mean to be snooty, but not at £800.

This website is all about well informed value - £5000 spent wisely is better than £500 spent poorly. A lot of stuff here in the latter category.

I might have missed a gem here ... all I am saying is tread carefully, because I spotted a lot of overpriced poor sellers here (don't get me wrong, some of them are decent watches ... but appear to be really overpriced).

true but i have a problem with the leather strap(well not just me i assume) u know the inside of the leather strap let it be crocodile or ostrich or whatever they put the inside bit with a bloody absorbent pad which suck in ur sweat and looks bad like dark spots and not so dark spots nd after 1.5 to 2 years constant use maybe less depending on the summer it starts to smell thats y i like a bracelet although it catches my arm hair like a bad epilator but i shorten it so it doesn't catch and it looks sexy as **** with the bracelet.

nice watch but love it if it was in bracelet at that price

at that price you could always just replace the bracelet with a steel one. I actually think the black croc strap suits it better.

Surely it's just very similar to kinetic? One stored in a capacitor and one in a spring or something. If you don't get to see it happening it seems a little pointless to me.

Nothing remarkable about this timepiece to warrant the price tag?

Automatic? So it ticks on its own? Remarkable. Technology these days!

I assume that you're trying to make a joke? If not, an automatic watch has a mechanical movement with a rotor that rewinds the mechanism through the movement of the wearer's arm.

I yearned for the day our societies here in the decadent west collapse either through economic strife, war, civil rebellion or natural disaster. I am doing my very best to ferment that. Either way I have my open ticket to the east.

I dont see why people think its reasonable to spend thousands of pounds, … I dont see why people think its reasonable to spend thousands of pounds, or even hundreds for that matter, on a **** watch when there are people starving to death. Its irresponsible **** like this from westerners which embarasses this nation. Materialism is so damn widely accepted by everyone, the ease with which the marketing has convinced you that you 'need' all this **** is just mind bending. And of course, people will rush to defend materialism because, hey, **** starving people because they were born in the wrong time and place.

Do so; if it cost that much 10 years ago it may have appreciated nicely and require addtional insurance.

It's not a manufactuer of watches that I've ever heard of, but that … It's not a manufactuer of watches that I've ever heard of, but that doesn't mean it's not valuable. It might be worth £10 and be a mass produced piece sold by the likes of Samuals, but it could be a limited edition run watch made by a small relatively unknown watch maker. Your best bet is to take it to a decent independant jewellers (ideally one specialising in watches).

Cheers anyway.

I hope it's worth more than a tenner as he paid £1800 for it about 10 years ago.
