It's back! Time to visit the City of Angels.

300 seats to LAX for just £300 return!

Via Manchester. Dates are for October, a perfect time to visit in my opinion! 24 hours only, and they usually sell out much faster than that, so get on it!

P.s. Don't forget to visit In 'n' Out Burger when you go

Not looking likely from what I've read. A real shame though cos it's a great drive! Did SF to Huntington Beach last year and was brilliant.
Only shame to this is I've booked too many holidays on those dates thanks to hukd! Still heat tho !

5hrs there, 5hrs back by Megabus. Start early, leave late. That's what I did when I was there in May. Or rent a car and drive there which my friend did.

I did Las Vegas to Grand Canyon South Rim & back in a day. Also stopped off at Hoover Dam. That was a long day, with very little driving scenery.

What are the selected dates?
Heat just for mentioning In & Out Burger. ANIMAL FRIES!!
We got cheap TC flights to LA last year. Epic road trip. Monterey, San Fran, Napa, walking in Eastern Sierra, Death Valley, Vegas, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon north rim, Zion national park.

The Grand Canyon is one of the seven natural wonders of the world so it would be a shame to rush a visit after all the driving to get there. Most people stay at least a night or two so that they can get to see the sunrise/sunset over the canyon and maybe walk a trail while there.

I know everyone on here are tight gits, but 10 hours on a bus is ridiculous. Let's be honest, you probably ended up with less than 5 hours walking around and doing stuff. In general I say anything where the travel time is more than the time in the place isn't worth it at all (especially on a bus/plane)

Well no, arrived at 7am and left 10pm. Had plenty of time do everything. Spent the time on the bus sleeping as it through the night. Still got a full day worth.

If we went via plane, not only it would of cost us 3 times a much but would of spent less time actually doing what we wanted due to arrival time to and from the airport, queuing for passport control etc.

Flying internally in the US isn't as simple as the UK when you are not from the US originally.

Sounds great. I have my own 3 week epic road trip planned for next year that starts in San Fran and takes in Yosemite NP, Monterey, Pfeiffer Big Sur, LA, Las Vegas, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon south rim, Bryce canyon & Zion NP. Can't wait.

October/November is off-season on this well-served route to LA and you can often book for around £350 with major commercial airlines if you look carefully. Try a flight fare search site if you don't like this deal or want other dates (Feb/Mar are also low prices), you could even get a stopover in another city at a good price at that time of year.

Queuing for ages in passport control. You had better experience that me. Either way, I enjoyed the road trip in between cities. Worth the road trip and happily do it again. Spend plenty of time traveling around the world so the 5hr bus journey never bothered me.

I did the same trip, also along route 66. Yeah, long day but the Grand Canyon was amazing.

Take a Sat Nav - Big Sur part of the pacific highway is closed due to a landslide. Apart from Yosemite, its a similar trip I done 15 years ago! Also get booking Yosemite. It fills up quick to stay in the park. Cheaper to stay outside, but queuing to get back in everyday will be a nutache.

Ive booked myself into travelyosemite.com/lod…ge/ & had to play around with the days to find available for June.

Will be staying at Yosemite Valley Lodge in the park for the very reason you mention. Hoping the landslides will be cleared by the time we go in September next year.

Since when have we required to go through passport control to travel from LA to San Francisco its even in same state
Not a bad deal, a saving of £100-£150 depending on who you usually fly with.

Best to land and leave immediately though!

I just came back from Yosemite - didn't see anything at all about landslides and certainly wasn't diverted by any, if that helps.

There's a nice "nod" to the In & Out logo off the M6 at Wednesbury, just before Ikea. Sadly, it's a car repair place, not one of the greatest burger franchises on the planet.

The landslides reference in my reply to Bojangles was related to the Big Sur landslides that he mentioned, not Yosemite.
