Land and get away from LA as quickly as possibly
aargh going to LA in May but one way only, was planning on using Thomas Cook, although be warned their carry on luggage allowance is practically none existent.

mike
As far as I believe 23kg hold baggage is included on long haul. Could be wrong

Regardless, great offer. Especially that it's from Manchester
1 checked bag included on long haul
Booked - thanks OP.

West coast here we come. Can't go wrong for under £300. The planes are okay, went to Florida this year with them, no issues.

Definitely includes some hold baggage, btw.

1 checked bag included on long haul

last time I checked (4 days ago), carry on has a limit of 6kg, whereas BA is 23kg, plus you're allowed a laptop (no mention of bag) on Thomas Cook, but a suitcase/laptop case on BA.

Probably not an issue to some, but if you're moving to California it can be.

Carry on 23 kg seems rather excessive would think that would be hold luggage
6 kg carry on seems about the norm
Cracking deal though

£9.90 Quidco on this, too.

.....and head to Northern California, otherwise prepare to be in 5 lanes of congested traffic heading further into the scrubland 'delights' of Orange County, Riverside and San Bernardino.

Of course, unless you are passionate about seeing areas GTA V are based on and enjoy the picturesque views of where Trevor lives....

I'm going to California on honeymoon next September, very tempted to book at this price, £800 pp return for premium seats. Anyone know how this compares to other airlines prices? Worth holding off for a deal in the new year?
No idea why people are putting the area down, just spent three weeks there and it is utterly fantastic, miles better than Orlando.
Cheers Op. Managed to persuade the wife. Taking to kids to the US for the first time.

Having relatives and being to SoCal 13 times and seeing more than the average tourist attractions, it is far from fantastic. We probably will go for this deal though, sadly relatives are the only reason for visiting such a scrubland dump.

Well obviously compared to Birmingham it's a great big dump. But I live on a remote Scottish island so most things are far more beautiful than I see every day.

Next time you go, save up for a car and drive around. The place is stunning

I have been around in a car, every time I have been there...have you been to Orange County? Riverside? San Bernardino? The 'beauty' of downtown Hollywood that looks like Small Heath, Birmingham.
If it was like premium to cancun it wasn't great.

£300 including bags good deal, but all depends on aircraft if going for upgraded seats.

Ba virgin only allow 23 kg each now, its a pity Thomas cook don't have any dreamliners like thomsons

For £300 its a bargain

ive booked fly into la and leave las vegas.
What's the weather like then?

What's the weather like then?

Late spring/early summer Generally it's hot and dry but not insanely hot. Hot enough to know you're on holiday but not hot enough to make it hard work. It's also a drier heat compared to the more humid florida.

If you drive out to Las Vegas add another 5+ degrees. Las Vegas gets unbelievably hot in the summer, hot enough to not want to spend any time outside so spring is the best time of year to do there.
Within a drive of LA you've got Northern CA, Pacific Coast Highway, Yosemite, Sequoia, Palm Springs, San Diego - all worth visiting.

Other than San Diego and Palm Springs (Personally I would not say Palm Springs is worth visiting....a haven of middle class fabrication out in the Indio Desert) you would do better flying into San Francisco which is £70 cheaper than this deal.

I mean let's face it, unless anyone finds this attractive...driving through Riverside to hit the resort of Palm Springs would only appeal to those that watch ITVBe 24/7.

I paid £1200 for LHR-LAX, LAS-LGW 2 years ago so Id say bite their hand off its an amazing deal.

If I had the money id jump at it.

I've been to LA this year and just got back from NYC last week. Flew with Thomas cook to NYC and got to say I would defo fly again with them long haul.

Bigger leg room on flight to NYC compared to flight to LA with BA.

6kg hand luggage included. They don't check the weight on way home.
23kg hold baggage included on all Thomas cook long haul flights.
I believe meals are also included in the price.

I absolutely love the California coast line. Went there on my honeymoon 10 years ago and would go every year at this price.
Having just got back from LA via Norwegian (who I love) for £480 return, this seems a good deal. Norwegian use a new dream liner, and on the 2 USA trips I have used them have been excellent. I would be cautious of what plane TC used but you can't sniff at £300 return!

Ref LA, talk about the most overrated place in the world. I was really unimpressed and wished I'd spent another night in Vegas.

San Diego, was lovely. So, my tip for 2p. Fly into LA. Head down to SD and follow the coast all the way up to San Francisco, then fly to Vegas, enjoy a blur of sleepless nights then fly back to LA and home. That's my plan for next year!

You can get San Fran flights for £230 cicobuff? Tell me where, that would be a real bargain.

Palm Springs appeals more for the beautiful valley, and the mountain aerial tramway thing. I appreciate it has limited appeal, but i enjoyed it.

Thanks OP, been wanting to book for a long time but have been waiting for this price.

I think you looking at £229, but that is just one-way
Ah but that's just the outbound leg to SFO. You had me worried. I'd agree SFO would be preferable, but you can't knock £300 return to LA.
no good if you live in the south. Manchester is far away.
As someone in his early 30's, I found LA was a very strange place. It's a city where you really need a friends there, otherwise you will think it's a dump. The tourists attractions are a disgrace - the walk of fame was one of the worse place I've ever been in my life. It's not even in the slightest bit worth visiting, unless you're a complete moron and haven't travelled.

Even Malibu feels like highway along the coast, with the odd high-end restaurant.. unless you have people that know where to go and then its another world. Manhattan beach is worth a visit, as it feels quite 'Californian'.

It's worth visiting for a few days, then drive to Vegas and the grand canyon.
the SanFran flash sale, and this LA flash sale were exact same price.
Check this video of the LA freeways yesterday as EVERYONE headed home for Thanksgiving. Even those of you used to the M25 will shudder. youtube.com/emb…jFk

Great deal gone for it

According to seatguru, they should be using Airbus A330-200's for these flights.
