I think one of the fig trees is recommended to be grown in a patio pot. They do sell other fruit tree as patio plants, but they're not include in the sale,....yet

don't forget cashback!

doh!

Thanks maia

Just ordered a rather nice looking yellow plum tree. It grows to maximum of around 2m tall so I'd say you could put that in a very large pot. If you want the fruit to swell it will need a lot of water though!

I really hope my wife doesn't see this - She's turned our entire kitchen into some sort of greenhouse/potting shed. I can't make my corn flakes without treading over egg cartons of seedlings and buckets of tree peonies.

edit: Too late.

You can get fruit trees cheaper, the thing is to consider everything. The age and size of the tree is important. T&M have a lot of species that you can't find in the supermarkets. Many of them are new trees that have been produced to resist disease, so in theory you could save a lot of money by not having to buy the stuff to treat the diseases. Also, if your fruit tree gets disease you may lose a years fruit and lose precious space in your garden for nothing.
I bought a basic Opal plum tree for a fiver at Lidl, but still think my peach tree (resistant to leaf curl) and my fig tree (a type which is hardier for our Winters) a bargain. For the specialist stuff you usually need the specialist companies imo.

Would the wife notice if I bunged an 8' high apple tree in the back garden, I wonder?

Well said. The Victoria plum at T&M is ...i.e. I know exactly what i'll end up with and what kind of space I'll need.

I wasn't negging this post I was just saying that Tesco had some dunno if they were premium or bog standard, was just saying. You don't always get what you pay for I bought loads of plants from T&M last year and lots of it died I bought some cheap plants from Morrisons and they thrived all summer

Has anyboy bought fruit trees from here b4? I want a fig tree but with figs on them already...

Just had a bare rooted nashi tree delivered and it doesnt even have buds never mind leaves and fruits. Will give it a fortnight then get onto them if theres no signs of life

you wouldn't want a bare root with leaves on.

was really tempted by the pluto flavour king but isn't self fertile. pity.

I thought jazminkennedy was just trolling tbh. There really is no way you would get a fruit tree delivered with fruit already on it. I am not expecting mine to bear fruit next year, never mind this year. I think they normally need to settle in and become established.
Hope your tree is ok and starts to bud once it's in the earth hooray henry.

Morrison's annuals are very good - although I'm not sure that they'd have been any better than T&Ms had they been through the post!

Trees are different to annuals and need to be selected carefully and that's all that MAIA was pointing out and I backed up. The £7.99 Tesco tree may provide an abundance of fruit, however, because of the method used to "create" the tree it may be susceptible to disease or may grow far too big for the area you intended.

Looks at the Tesco ones as being a lucky (or unlucky) dip...you don't know what you'll end up with :-)

thanks for the deal, bought 2 trees

Has anyone received their trees?

What was their response then Den? I can't wait to see my fruit trees in their new home!

I sent an email about a Magnolia I ordered a month ago. Within 24hours they had responded to my email, confirming that it will be with me by the end of May as in the delivery despatch notes. Their customer service has been good in my experience.
