Yes, the point is to go in the Xmas period and see the "real" Father Christmas...

Plus with kids in tow, you want to get in/out as quickly and simply as possible

I can't see the details to see their itinerary but if it is going to Kiruna there you should easily be able to put this together cheaper or if you want an adventure take the overnight train.... Similar to the Northern Lights trip I posted but you can also fly direct to Kiruna too.

we are thinking of going to Lapland next year, any expert advice would be much appreciated if possible (2 adults + 1 child), had a look on various sites, package deals only, and well expensive. Some alternative pointers would be appreciated.

Thailand is just an amazing country with the most hospitable people going and a unique culture.
Just go guys....ignore all the doom merchants....I have been there many a time...Phuket included and never had a problem....just keep your wits about you/keep cool/smile and enjoy yourself.

Anyone been to ko samet on the eastern coast towards Cambodia, really enjoyed that island , no cars and really pretty and a good atmosphere, just a dodgy boat crossing.

Would like to go back to Thailand one day had a great 6-7 weeks

Nothing wrong with believing in "Buy British"

I don't believe that was the point I was making. My point was that those who think they're qualified to make bold, sweeping and unqualified statements about this country's political economic status should probably learn to spell the names and derivatives of said country first if they want to be taken at all seriously*.

(*And ideally, not make woefully ignorant comments about some of its biggest cities, too)

Er, isn't Dreamliner a new plane. What relevance
to Thomsons tugboats?

Been on this ship, had an amazing time! Partially due, tbh, to fact that cabins were so depressing! Forces everyone out to the lounge areas to mingle. Loved the restaurant, and how we were seated with diff people every meal by the waiters- makes for a really jolly and friendly atmosphere everywhere onboard. Thomson seem to sacrifice the showy Promenade deck to the restaurants, so they're inside/outside. I prefer that any day to the more 'luxury' ships where the restaurants feel ' underground'. I've spoken to others on subsequent holidays who've been on this ship, all said the same thing- first impression, ship bit scruffy and worn out, ended up having the best time ever. Wish I could take advantage of this deal, but kids are in school.

Well, as a former Floridian, I agree, there is more. Obviously there are miles of beaches. On the Atlantic side, I can recommend New Smyrna. More of a "locals" beach than Daytona but that's where I usually went. Ever heard of Gatorland? Great little reptile farm in Kissimmee. How about taking an air boat ride? Western style horse back trail rides? If around the autumn, you might be able to find a hayride. Loads of botanical gardens - Lew Gardens is one. In nearby Winter Park, you can take a boat ride thru the chain of lakes and see some amazing homes. Fishing? The Everglades and more alligator wrestling and Indian reservation. And the Florida Keys, especially Key West!! Up north, there's the state Capitol in Tallahasse and St Augustine is the oldest city which has a military fort to visit along with the oldest store, schoolhouse and more.
I could go on but recommend just try Googling for things to do in Florida, besides the parks!
