Thorntons Luxury Chocolate Misshapes 350g for only 99p @ HomeBargains

This was posted about a year ago, but well worth reminding everyone that they're still available.

These are genuine Thorntons Chocolates, slightly Misshapen for only 99 pence. They are thorntons because of the Factory address on the packet, and they are same same flavours and styles. Some chocs even have thorntons written on them.

Enjoy!

misshape is a funny word innit

Not a deal - they are always this price - and you can't guarantee the contents, my last pack had M&S chocolates in them (I know because it was that signature white & milk chocolate lozenge that has the logo on it). Also I've had a few with mint chocolate in them - it only takes one mint chocolate to taint the whole packet!

As aLV426 says, they are always this price and the contents can vary BUT it is still a good deal. Only problem is, you can't eat a full bag without feeling sick!

That's ok, you get a cold vote to use. I thought that 99 pence for 350g of Thorntons chocs was a good deal.

I've just had a look on the Thorntons website, depending on box size and selection, their chocolates are about £15 for 350g (very approx) These are only 99p! £15 in a box, or 99p in a bag. Come on?!

If you are lucky and you get untainted chocolates and they are Thorntons and they are less than 99p then, yes I would say it's a deal. However as I have mentioned before you can't guarantee the contents - I had a pack with honey filled chocolates (don't think there are Thorntons!) and they had broken and coated everything - real sticky mess! My last pack had freeze dried strawberry pieces in blocks of bitter dark chocolate...

Ha ha. Ok, that's a bit cheaper, but they're basic ranges and cheaper chocs. But still, £4 or 99p? I've had quite a few and always been Thorntons. Always. I suspect your Honey thing may have been from a Spring or Easter selection perhaps.

I see you put a lot more effort into criticising deals rather than posting them. Try not to lose any sleep over it. It's just a cheap bag of chocs.

"Luxury" "misshapes"? Nah

Also, I actually bought these before and they were mostly gross, hard, dry, stale, coffee-flavoured chocolates. Yuk!

Thorntons fer Luxuree right on, massive respect to da choclat meisters innit. lololololololo your funny bro!...RESPECT! !... WAGWAN

Factory address only means they are Thorntons if Thorntons is the only product produced at that factory. Most food companies have their product produced in a factory to their recipe, but the factory also produces other brands, such as supermarket own brands to different recipes. As others have said there appear to be a mixture of Thorntons and other brands. I have tried three packs of these over the last year, all were this price and I would say the odd chocolate in them tasted like Thorntons, and a few tasted really sharp like a cheap supermarket chocolate. Mostly they tasted average though and as others have said in at least one pack there was a chocolate that 'contaminated' the taste of most of them.

99p for 350g of chocolate is cheap, if you like the chocolate. I have been put off these particular packs but hey if you have been lucky with them then good for you.

Commenting not criticising. It's a cheap bag of chocolates I can agree on, however you posted it as Thorntons Luxury Chocolate Misshapes & genuine Thorntons Chocolates, which there are not...

I buy these occasionally. I like the element of surprise/danger.

Love these, and yes M&S chocolates maybe in the bags, but that's because Thorntons make their chocolates

They are. Some of them have Thorntons written on them. The big flat one that's often found in the middle of a big box. Why would I lie? Why??

Are they suitable for vegetarians? Anyone know?

The pack doesn't say they are. But the ingredients doesn't contain a lot of meat. Hope that helps.

They might have alcohol, if that's something that bother you

dunno

I also like to live dangerously:

I sometimes buy the Turners 'luxury' chocolates from Poundland. Worth a go if you like (IMO slightly sickly/fatty) Roses/Quality Street like chocolates for less cash.
Personally I like All Gold, Toblerone Minis and Miniature Heroes. I usually never buy assortments, as they're for quitters not real chocoholics. Straight up bars of sugar/fat wonderfulness like Dairy Milk, Toblerone, Milka. Or value bars. They even make you bend right down for the value bars, meaning you work hard and burn off a few calories to get 100 grams of milk chocolate for just 39p. I buy 'em anyway, because f**k 'em I'm that hard.

My posts amuse me, even if they sometimes don't amuse anyone else.

innit's even funnier.

Thorntons like Cadburys has gone the way of the doggy choc...YUK oO

I've had bad experiences with these, and good. Used to buy a bag a week when I was in college, last pack I had about 3 years ago really put me off them. Was full of these foul tasting Dark chocolate abominations with a mystery filling. They made up 3/4 of the bag and I binned it after finishing the others. Have a good rummage around the shelf and pick a bag that looks like it's got some good ones in.

Thanks for the reminder OP, will be giving these another try!

I buy these all the time and they've always been thorntons, I try to pick a bag with flavours I like!

What aLV426 wrote is correct, but its not just a mint choc that can affect the others I have had packs of these and all of them taste the blooming same similar to coffee but not as nice. Stopped buying them, not just my taste buds my family thought the same.

Last year these were really nice. Then they dissapeared for a while and now are back. Sadly, in my opinion, they are now awful - definitely not the same. I wondered if the first were genuine miss shapes and these are now made especially to sell at 99p.

available only if the local 78 stone wobblers haven't got to them yet

Eating a packet at the moment After you've had a few packets you figure out the good ones and when to skip a batch. I used to buy a few packets at a time thinking they'd be limited offer, but they always have them and it's not good for the waistline, I limit myself a packet every couple of weeks - honest

I just wanted to let you know they have M&s chocolates in them because throntons make the M&s chocolate ranges (majority , if not all) you will see some of the high range gift box chocolates are almost the same . So thrse mis shspes are actually pure thorntons made.. just make sure if anyone buys them just look through the packs , so e can contain almost all the same type of chocolates.

Whilst I accept they are made in the same factory as Thornton's, they are not technically Thorntons chocolates as they use different ingredients for the M&S range (and they have been bought over by Ferrero). Also you cannot determine by visual inspection the flavour of the contents or if they have been tainted with the other flavours.

I suspect that had something to do with Ferrero buying Thorntons!
