Refreshed 30th Jun (Posted 29th Jun)
Thorpe Park is giving Military Personal free entry to the park tomorrow. With the park open from 10 am until 10 pm.

To gain access to the Surrey-based theme park, you need to present their ID to staff at the Island Ticket Office upon arrival.

Serving personnel will need to have with them a valid military personnel card/MOD card, Rewards for Forces ID Card, Band of Brothers Card or Defence Privilege Card (for serving or ex-serving members of the armed forces only). Please note that the offer of free entry to the British Armed Forces is not in conjunction with the DDS or Blue Light Card.

Seems like a nice idea
Nice to see companies giving out freebies like this - there's the free Toby Carvery offer too.

This offer is well thought out, it's unlikely that the armed forces person will be attending alone, will probably be going with paying family...

Been today total nightmare, rides breaking down all the time, staff non existent. Hopefully better tomorrow for the boys and girls of the arm forces.

Indeed should include their kids they know most will be bring the family with them hence they make the £££ of them
If it’s open to ex forces, why don’t they accept DDS?

It makes no sense as DDS Is the same as defence privilege card I have just checked my card and it’s states both names on it.
So If gi Joe takes his wife and 2 kids he pays for 3. Surely 2 x 241 deal would be better? This is tp pretending to be kind. A massive bunch of squaddies should all turn up with no family to teach them a lesson

First of all you don't know that for fact, and it certainly isn't Thorpe Park pretending to be kind. Unfortunately the web sight gives no details but a quick phone call will let you know what the offers for families are when part of the party is an armed forces member.
Please let me know what you find out after your phone call as I am an ex soldier.
Wish I was in the army
Can't imagine anything worse than going to Thorpe Park on a baking hot Saturday. Queue for an hour in the sun because there's minimal shade and get a handful of rides in.

I went a couple of weeks ago on a Friday which was alright, then had fastpass for an hour on Saturday and then scarpered because no thanks.
