Title says it all. Limited availability.

Remember to keep the order below £18 to avoid import charges.

I've bought from them before a couple of times and their t-shirts and customer services were great (I returned one t-shirt which was too small with no problems).

from 1st December, the personal allowance that applies before imported goods become liable for duty and VAT is being raised, from the current paltry $22 to a far more reasonable $150 . VAT would still be payable.

Note that it's only the customs duty limit which is being raised. You'll still have VAT to pay (hopefully at 15%!) if it's over £18, and presumably still the service charge too (which will be much greater than the VAT), so I think it's best to keep your order under £18. Also, the t-shirts tend to sell out quickly, so I wouldn't bet on the t-shirt you want still being in stock in your size in a week's time when the changes come into force.

Edit: Gary you just beat me to it. I need to be more concise!

It's always a good idea to get international mail addressed to more than one person as the allowance is per person.

Umm... thats interesting....

So like...

Mr A Person and Mr B Person?

Funny...I ordered $110 worth of tees last time, but got them delivered to my bf's work address noted as a "gift" put a kooky "gift note" in and it all went fine! No tax that time! Tempted to try again...but the thing is with these tees is after a few washes, they do fade, so stick them in a delicate wash!

In which case i have a feeling my next item from america is going to be to...

How do people feel the S, M, L sizes match up to our sizes from over here? i.e. from Topman/Outfit?

I'd say they're about the same as here (although I find Topshop sizes small). There's a size chart with dimensions on the American Apparel website (who make some of the Threadless shirts) so you could look at that and compare with one of yours.

Ordered 4 tshirts, 2x $5 ones, and 2x $10 ones.

Total came to $56.24 delivered...

Then got stung for £17.02 charges on delivery

Not so cheap in the end for me.

Well $56 is above the limit so what did you expect.

I thought the limit had gone up... so I didnt expect charges obviously.

I was wrong I guess.

I do not mind paying duty its giving the couriers money for the service, they should make it law they can only charge a few pounds

Yes, the 'service charge' is the killer for me, and it has prevented me from buying Threadless T-shirts nowadays. Real bummer as I love their shirts.

I've bought a lot of t-shirts from this site before as they're really unique. Not had any issues with any of them fading though. They're cheap even with paying the import duty!

Do postage charges count towards the £18 allowance?

Does anyone know of ANY UK based online tshirt shop that has as good a range of cool, arty tshirts like threadless?

Redmolotov have some really good ones. Bought loads from there and they are really helpful, eg they will print a colour they are not advertising for you if you want.

so I am guessing $25 just comes under the £18 limit so 5 x $5 for me then

Thieves eh

Be very careful if buying for kids i found the sizes very small which surprised me as american children tend to be a bit bigger. (can i say that, no offence intended).
I would buy at least one size bigger if buying for kids. i found the quality to be excellent.

These guys do really nice tshirts, there more pricey than threadless...but they look so damn good, plus arent as common place to see out and about as Threadless.

Can anyone explain this service charge to me... what is the max before it is charged? Thanks.

Ordered 4! Had $25 lying around.. used it and $10 excess for shipping! So all in all .. a great bargain! Cheers people!

At the exchange rate currently used by the Customs and Excise, $25 is OK. However, the rate is calculated each month, at the beginning. If the T-shirts take more than 2 weeks to come, and we hit next months rate, and the pound gets worse then it could be over the limit. I played safe and bought 4.

I got hit once for being about 15p over the £18, which cost me about an extra £12 (I thought I was well under as I used a $3 voucher, which brought the cost down from $36 to $33, but the discount was not shown on the customs slip - this was when it was about $2 to the pound).

HOT. Been a massive fan of Threadless for a while now so just ordered 5 more T-Shirts for fun!

Just put in 2 seperate orders, 6 tshirts of just over £40, not bad at all!
I need to take the one that i bought the other day for £20 back now so i can afford them all

Is everyone paying around $15 shipping? Just to make sure.

Also isn't the service charge less if it's list as a 'gift'?

just ordered 4 shirts, thanks for the heads up voted hot!

Oh damn it seems I can't use my Maestro card to buy stuff? Shame... some of it's really nice.

3 tshirts for £17! nice one

To be safe I am ordering three t-shirts $5 t-shirts, most of the good ones have sold out though!
