I thought this was a good deal as its a 1 month sim only contract and can be cancelled at anytime. With the unlimited Internet and Texts I think its well worth it.

do any of teh voucher codes work on it?

Do i have to phone them for the small print?

Im assuming the unltd free internet is not forever?

When i signed up to a contract with them with a few extras thrown in and with £5 per month off they said it was forever, then put the price back after 6 months and said that was the contract.

Even asking several times if the price or plan changes.

Yeahh good look with leaving three took me 17 hours worthb of calls to tell them i was leaving my contract at the end of 18months
Would go something like this
High i would like my PUK code, as i want to get an IPHONE.
Let me tell you about our offers, the iphone is rubish, etc .........
nope thanks for the offers can i have my puk code yes certainly sir ...... hang up on you
call them back again wait 40 mins in queue and repeat until i was screaming at them down the phone this happened a total of 16 times over 3-4 days
Be warned three and there TERRIBLE india customer hinderance department

Signal is also appaling.

Think i may move to another network.

Customer service is awful, stay away. Still waiting refund for USB modem returned a month ago. Hopeless !!!!

Now I've had a three phone for around 4 years now without a problem, signal has always been great and they are cheaper than anyone else for the type of usage I have. Then on my most recent house move I find I'm in a dead spot, literally a 10m radius around my house where I can't get a signal! There is one corner of my bedroom where I can still use it, so am cancelling.

I live in Herts too and I have never had a problem with my signal

I have this deal, switched recently to sim only as my contract ended. 3g coverage is good, only matched by orange in my area.

Is as advertised but remember Three's fair use policy on 'unlimited' internet is 1gb.

Seconded. One of the worst companys I have ever dealt with. Trying to speak to the CS team is as a pleasant an experience as smashing your face against a brick wall repeatedly.

I must agree with this , trying to cancel a contract with THREE is not for the feint hearted.

good signal but wouldn't touch them with a barge pole, useless bunch of robbing monkeys!

Avoid this company like the bubonic plague i had a 12 month contract with them..i tried to give them a months notice for termination they pestered me 3 or 4 times a week with offers but after appaling customer service and virtually no signall i tried to end my conctract on the last day like i was repeatedly told 30 min wait and after i declined all offers transfer to the wrong department or hang up on me after a week of the same treatment virtually everyday i told them i was emigraing to australia on that day aagain they messed me about i smashed their phone to smitherines john cleese style they kept billing me £30 a month i kept throwing all mail from them in the bin repeated house phione calls that i couldn't stop how would i like to pay the bill
got quite amusing in the end until they were slamming the phone down on me ...debt collectors followed this i wrote to them disputing the bill but another company but same debt collector called untill i told hi, if he even came up my path again i'd throw him up it i eventually agreed to pay thenm 26 pound which was the last months bill 2 years previous because amazingly they had no reference to me cancelling...
Avoid avoid avoid so many horror stories with these i'm surprised their still going..

Well, i have never had a problem with 3...so far!
I cancelled my contract yesterday after considering their retention offer for a few days and they were very helpful indeed and gave me my PAC code there and then over the phone... Always had good service from CS agents there.

This company should be shutdown!!

I would agree their cs is appealing but certainly not that bad
by the way
PUK = unblock locked phone when you entered wrong pin too many times
PAC is the one to transfer network by keeping number

I live in North London, reason for signal being bad at the moment is because 3 are upgrading the network. If you go to planet 3, you can sign up for alerts when work is being done and they'll send you a text about what is happening.

Network should be better when this work is completed.

Thinking of ordering one of these for my daughter.....it says on the website that the sim will only work in '3G' phones. Does that mean a phone bought from 3? Or will the sim work in her Sony Ericsson?

I have actually had good experiences with three CS.
by the way

appalling is something which is disliked

3pay is a good one to go with. its payg on 3 network. for a £10 top up you get; 600 texts, unlimited 3 to 3 calls, £150 worth of internet access and it all rolls over for 3 months and the £10 doesn't expire. best of all you dont have to go through customer services.

This means what it says - a 3 SIM will work in a phone that has 3G capability. 3, the network, is not nor ever has been called 3G. 3G is a technology.

So if your daughter's Sony Ericsson is 3G capable and not locked to another network, the SIM will work fine.

Thank you, will check if it's 3G capable or not, it's definitely not locked!

im with Three but only on payg, i cant fault them for customer service/prices/signal etc however being on payg limits what id ever need them for!

im on this 1gb download per month, google maps and opera on my nokia n95 are great

can't recommend this. Pay £5 extra and go 02 Simplicity. 3 were a nightmare when i was with them, the customer service was appalling and i had to be really rude to get my PAC. they ended up stalling so long i had to pay another month.

hot deal, even though I don't need it as I managed to bag the nokia e63 for £8 a month last september on an 18mths contract. I love 3, their network keeps improving everyday and throw in lots of freebies.

Am I right in thinking that whilst a 3Three sim will work in any 3G phone you can only use Skype on an official 3Three handset?

Hot for me, i am a customer and not had any problems with the customer service yet! i do expect this to change once my contract is up but the fact is that this is the best sim only offer around and if your prepared to deal with the customer service issues, and your in a good signal area it's worth a punt. I have found that the internet on the 3 network is much faster than 02 who i was previously with for almost 10 years. no decent retention deals so left them.

I've never been with 3 but I've heard so many people say your contract is effectively uncancelable so it makes no difference if the theoretical term is one month or twenty years.

I'm sure you could get an equivalent and less restrictive payg value for your money, for example O2 textandweb 15 pounds topup per month = "unlimited" free internet, "unlimited" free texts, then you can spend the 15 on various free-minutes packages ("bolt-ons") if you like.

just signed up for this, been pretty happy so far. signal is pretty inconsistent at the moment, i presume due to the network expansion, but i've at least always had enough to make a call.

for those saying it's impossible to cancel a contract, have you considered getting off your **** and going to a three store? they can't exactly put the phone down on you there can they.

For rude presumptuous numpties like you, ever realised that they will palm you off to their phone customer service because you signed up online? Thought not. Now get your bottom off your high horse, div.

The o2 PAYG option is poo-poo.

500Mb is considered FUP for 'unlimited web'. I've got a HTC Magic and somehow it managed to chug through that by 'auto updating' (o2's verdict, never happened on any other network). And then tore through my top up leaving me with zip.

Rubbish.

Erm, it's a bit more complicated than that. The Skype that's on Three branded phones isn't really Skype at all, it doesn't send voice via the 3G data connection, it actually makes a regular GSM type voice call to a Three owned Skype gateway. It's actually quite genius, benefiting Three since there's a lot more capacity for voice on the network than there is data, and benefiting users because the call is far more reliable (essentially as reliable as a voice call) and the quality is better. This client is only available on Three phones, and is why Skype calls don't count towards your data allowance. You *can* use "proper" voip clients on any phone if you have internet access on your contract (i.e. Skype, Fring, etc.) but this will come out of your 1Gb allowance.

you can get a free simcard from their homepage and check how it works on your phone. Pay attention to the quality of signal at home and/or work place as it may be an issue

actually there is a limit of free skype minutes - i think its 3000/m which is actually a lot

I find 3 ok, tho the INQ1 phone is good for facebook but for some reason the signal is poor, never had problems when i had a Motorolla E1000 a few years ago, id like a better phone, maybe the Google Nexus One will come to 3.

i think now it is much easier to cancel the contract if you have problems with signal. looks like lot of people experience that, so they let you cancel the contract without termination fees but that is negotiable. On the other hand you can get a discount because of that. I ve got £2 off per month, and my mate £3 because the signal is rubbish (actually signal is ok at my place, but i changed my address in order to get my discount)

Three have been absolutely disgusting in my experience.. T-Mobile, Orange and Vodafone have wound me up over the last year or so, but Three really are the worst of the bunch.
