I use one of these as my second SIM. Perfect for when I'm in an area not covered by my main SIM.

These are good as last up to 24 months. Often hard to find. But you don’t need an ongoing contract. Will be interesting to see if Three bring in 5G as promised this month. Their normal reception in London and the north doesn’t work very well otherwise. It’s more at a functional level.

Thanks

I just had a camelcamelcamel alert on this as it dropped way below my £40 target price - hot, hot, hot!
I use this in conjunction with a WiFi dongle and my Android headunit in my car. Perfect for Spotify and Google Maps. 🏼
Is this the same as the Three Data Reward SIM?
Good stuff - will slap into second sim slot as back-up

That's what I'm thinking. I have a compact phone for when I go running for streaming music and browsing the web/maps and don't need the hassle of swapping SIMs but at this price it'll be plenty to give it a data line and not pay excessively per month for a SIM only.
"Three 24gb data"
So that's 72gb of data. But for which network?

You telling me LaraCroft doesn't know that answer? 👀

This is different. This isn't a contract, just a SIM for a one-off cost that gives data for up-to 24 months.

No it’s very different! There are no calls and texts on this SIM AFAIK. It lasts for the sooner of 24Gb or 24months (from first use) with no further topups

Many thanks for posting this. I managed to order two after missing out on Prime Day.

However I forgot to check if you can tether, like you can with their sister company Smarty, as I want to use it with a laptop.

It is a Mobile Broadband SIM and is designed for tethering (only??). I use one in a MiFI.
I have had a couple of these in my iPad over the last few years & they are great for occasional use & means I don’t need a contract
Roaming in Europe works easily & it even worked further afield in Hong Kong.
At this price, given the 2 year validity this is a steal

Yes, that makes sense.

I don't have a MiFi and normally tether using an old mobile phone as it's only for use on holiday both abroad and in the UK. Smarty works fine in the UK, but not while roaming, despite the settings being correct. Their Customer Service is atrocious. They blamed the phone I was using, despite the same phone having worked perfectly with a Three SIM previously.

There are further topups available as it clearly says top up when you need more data, aslong as you are within the 24 month period

Well I suppose you COULD do this!!!! The cost of such topups has always seemed ridiculous compared to the cost of a replacement SIM - so I have never considered it!

Cheapest EE contract I can see is £13 a month giving 250mb data. That would be £312 for 24 months.
I use one of these in a dual sim handset to save money on data. I mostly use data and rarely make calls, and for my main sim use a Three PAYG. Data on the standard Three PAYG service is 1p per mb. 24gb would equate to £245.76. Can't imagine any phone contract giving 1gb data per month for £1.35.

If I used the full 24gb in 4 months then I'd begin looking at contracts instead as for £10 a month I could get 10gb allowance.

But it's a cost PER MONTH. This ISN'T.

How much data does your car use?

A bit difficult to gauge.

I originally got mine during Prime Day and a month later went to Madrid for 3 days which I used the SIM whilst there. The time between Prime Day and Madrid I used around 900MBs-1.5GBs (I don’t commute to work - I only drive mainly during night/weekends).

Most of my data use in my car would either be when the apps auto update, Google Maps update my offline maps, and my Spotify which I like to skip tracks a lot and play at normal quality.

I originally thought to get a monthly data SIM but even the cheapest was £5 a month and only 500MB per month. I did try the 200MB free SIM from Three but I would burn through that before the end of the month.
I have this you can use it for calls and texts if you top up money to it.
This might come in handy for our holiday next month. Anyone know what Three's signal is like in Sicily (Syracuse/outskirts area)?

Not sure about Sicily but Italy in general had pretty good coverage all over when we did a road trip across it last November.
Can someone confirm if there is an expiry date on these for activation?

Nope, no expiry date.
Now £44.97 unfortunately, expired.

You'll be roaming so it won't be Three's network. If there's an Italian network available you should be fine. I used my Three SIM in Sardinia without issue.

I'm curious, how'd you set that up at all?, as that sounds proper interesting!, and is the sort of thing I'd be definitely interested in as well. :-D

Was it via an CamelCamelCamel App alert thingy?, or ... thanx.
