£65 cashback via TCB

So- a decent enough offer for £17 (if you get decent Three coverage), but take into account the cashback and it's a pretty tasty £11.58 a month on average over a 12 month plan.
Yes, some people don't seem to have much joy with cashback- Personally I've had over £3k in 4 years, and only had about £200 declined, and that's typically when I've tried to use a code at the same time.

P.S. The link *looks* like it takes you to an additional line deal, there are some on there that you can add, or not, but the deal is for a standalone SIM.

P.P.S. I've linked to the Three deal page, not TCB. Don't forget to log in & click via TCB to get the cashback.

Anyway, here you go, what do you reckon? *winces*

Hi @ScroopEgerton I've added to the total to the title (excluding cashback). Fine to mention about cashback/incentives but as this is never guaranteed we just like to make sure the total price is show. Thanks!

Can I put this into a 4g router?

^^
I think you can use it in a phone first, then swap it out, I think...It would be good if someone could confirm?

no you can't use it in a router any device other than a phone and 3 block it automatically. you have to reboot to unblock but in a phone

I took a similar deal 8 month ago, tcb never tracked. Put is for a claim, still waiting for three to confirm the cashback. Anything else I can do?

Deal coming up as £18??
Still a good deal though IMO

they must know via some signal which the sim sends, as on ee, everytime i change my mobile device, in my ee account it shows the make and model of the phone im using

they know what device because the device tells them. simple. they control the network. they can even tell who your phoning where you are and even every word you say. and if they wanted they can record and replay all of it. that's what technology is there's no hiding unless you know how

Just logged into my TCB account and then clicked on the Three mobile deal.
It took me to the Three website saying £17 per month rather than £20 per month. I was told that the discount would be automatically applied at the end of checking out, but the discount wasn't applied.

To say it's a good deal anyway is completely missing the point. There should be a £65 discount, end of.

Looks like a scam.

It showed £17 rather than £20? Yeah that's correct.. How is that a 'scam'?
And do you seriously think companies like Three or TCB are trying to scam customers? That ain't good business. They don't scam you.
Anyway, here's a screenshot of the offer at £17 as advertised.

an if you knew that it costs them literally almost nothing to provide these service's since the cost of infrastructure was surpassed years ago it would probably blow your top off

Can I put this into a 4g router?

Regardless of the disinformation quoted by subsequent posters, it is possible to successfully use a 3 handset SIM in a 4G router / dongle without issue when the unlocked 4G (or 3G) device is either not 3-branded, not 3-affiliate-branded or when used in any unlocked Android handset that is capable of successfully running the combination of FoxFi app + FoxFi key WiFi/USB tethering app. I know this is possible as the guy who is sitting next to me has been using the SIM from this deal in an unlocked EE dongle for ages to successfully tether data to his Mac. He uses some ancient cheapo 4G Doogee Android handset for wifi tethering when he's on location; and says he sometimes tethers the Doogee via USB to an Asus mains-powered router when at his parents place. Note that the SIM's t&c do not permit such use, but clearly it is still functionally possible.
