USED TO BE £7

Do you just use these then throw away or can they be topped up? I'm guessing its more than £4 a GB if it can be topped up?

Have you got a link? I cant see one?

Anyone tried one of these on Ubuntu?

appears to be a good offer but I don't know much about these b4 anyone ask. heat

I assume this is a full size SIM so it would need to be trimmed down to size for use in an iPad?

can it be used abroad ?

3.59 at scan,

I bought a 3 month data SIM from Amazon for £11ish. I had been hoping to pick one up a little cheaper (as someone said, it was as cheap as £7) but it doesn't matter much because the quality has been excellent. I'm achieving speeds all the way up to 5Mbps (although 1-2Mbps is the average, it has to be said), far better than most other networks I've tried. I'll definitely be purchasing one again.

It'll be locked, find out what model the dongle is and see if there's an easy unlock guide

That's a microSIM (although picture shows normal SIM).

Is your dongle on 3, if not is it unlocked?

yeh micro, but you can get a converter for 99p on ebay. i've started doing this as micro sims tend to be cheaper atm.

are there any sims that the "top up" lasts until empty? I use internet rarely onsite so would like a sim that would last for around 6months if possible

There is a 12GB sim that lasts 12 months but it usually costs around 60 quid

thanks will take a look

Looks a great price and will fit my current 3 dongal !! WOOP

Great deal. Now, anyone know where I can get a cheap 3 dongle?

where can you buy that 12 months one the cheapest?

great find op

do this have to be used within the month you purchase or can you activate them at a later date?

Better off getting the t mobile iPhone 4 sim and sticking it in a dongle with an adaptor. 12 months free data, sim card cost is £5 plus £10 top up. I'm using mine on my O2 dongle and it works a treat

The old price used to be £7 from amazon and ebay for a 3gb / 3 months sim. Recently everywhere they have shot up in price. I emailed a couple of the traders who I used to buy from and they both said it was due to 3 putting up their wholesale prices, I guess they caught on that people were using there sims as disposable top-ups instead of topping up online.

I wish I had a 3 mobile phone as their 1 month £25 contract allows "all you can eat" tethering data, truly unlimited mobile broadband.

Anyone tried one of these on Ubuntu?

It's only a sim, so the operating system is irrelevant.

If you have an unlocked broadband dongle that works with Ubuntu, this sim should work with it.

Can anyone recommend a good mifi unit that works well with this 3 sim?

No problem with Ubuntu, I use it with a 3 dongle on a Dell Mini 9 it autodetects and then click to connect from the list of providers.

Thanks, the Mrs needs one for work.

now gone up to £4.40

Yes if you can afford to

surely being able to afford to or not doesnt enter into it ??
If abroad whats stopping you just using it like you would in its native country

Its not like a contract where they could add roaming charges to your bill - its a pay as you go sim so surely you wont have a "bill" to add roaming charges to - right ?
