Found 15th Oct 2014
Went into asda today to get some three barrels for £15 and found it had been reduced to only £11 which is an excellent deal ,or £12 for the honey one .....
I know its not the best drink in the world ,but I find its nearly as nice as corvosiour and half the price + cant complain as a mixer

Might be available online too but I haven't checked

Is this working on the principle of 'Any old s*** so long as its cheap'?

Not sure why so much hate for this ,personally I think its decent ,not going to win any prizes but the next step up would be corvoisiour (spelt wrong lol) that is over twice the price of this ......and as for "anything as long as its cheap" well tbh I would love to spend £35 \ £40 a bottle of decent whiskey but a lot of people cant afford that and this is a great price for a decent brandy

cooking brandy

As others have said ok, nowhere near as good as courvoisier but will do in a pinch!

Yeah, it's perfectly fine if you take coke or ginger ale in your brandy. But it's not cognac, if you take it straight.

I have been drinking brandy and coke for 30 years and as far as I am concerned there are two kinds of brandy. Cheap brandy like Tesco's own , Sainsburys own etc and nice French brandies , Coiuvosier (sp), Martell, Remy Martin etc. And I will be quite honest and say I cannot tell the difference between these french brandies once mixed with coke but they are all delicious.

They are poles apart and taste completely different, but nonetheless the cheap stuff is still quite drinkable with coke.

My problem with three barrels is that it attempts to place itself in-between the cheap stuff and the delicious stuff and it quite simply isn't, it is cheap stuff trying too hard.

Well put. Sir/madam.

E&J brandy (USA made) is usually £12 and is far better than Three Barrels.

Three Barrels have just reduced the alcohol level from 40% to 38%. It's the luck of the draw which you get.

this stuff is gross. ok for cooking

Good find, BTW!... Its an avarage brandy at a low price... if you think its crap, dont drink it / stop looking... and move on!
