Found 29th Sep 2017
Phoned three to cancel my cuurent 1 month rolling contract (£12p/m 8gb, unlimited minutes & texts) and was offered a three essentials plan for £15pm, 30gb data p/m, unlimited minutes & texts with Go Binge. No hotspot or use in Australia or America, but I don't need those in the next year so have saved £3p/m for a similar offer on the Advanced plan.

Three is just killing the market, EE and Voda need to bloody compete with these packages coming out every day.

I'm with 3, have been for nearly 2 years but out of the cities/towns, the signal strength suffers compared to EE/O2. Think I'll be moving to EE next purely from a reception viewpoint.

Heat given
I don't think essential deals have go binge
What happens after 12 months? Do you get moved to another (more expensive) tariff?

You stay on the same deal, unless you change tariffs.
You get hotspot & feel at home with three's advanced plan... it's just the essential plan where you don't get either.

Me too, and the call centres are useless.
Amazing deal if you can get coverage (Yeye for living in the countryside )

Moved to plusnet who piggyback ee from 3 .Got to say I've found coverage to be no better than 3.In fact slightly worse.I travel daily around north wales ,Manchester ,Merseyside .I moved for exactly the reason you are thinking but seriously considering going back to 3.

Interesting as I'm moving to that neck of the woods towards the end of the year. Hmmm, I may hold fire before jumping away from 3 then.
I do enjoy the Feel At Home though, and with a US trip on the horizon, it may be good to stay for a while longer. Thanks for your input there @rickj

Who knows. Better deals are always offered. The question is is "when the UK leaves Europe will our phone plans go up".

Just checked three website & you are right. Must have just been added for me as part of the retention deal. Main point is is always haggle as they are desperate to keep your custom.

No, but worth thinking about whenever you come near to the end of your contract whoever you are with.

Cold - it's a Retention offer. Maybe you should state this in the title instead of misleading people.

True, but always worth noting you can haggle with your current provider. Don't take their first offer.

I've done the same as you, live and work in south Manchester and the signal is similar to how it was with 3 but the 4g seems faster. Only a month by month sim with plus net so not sure if and when I will cancel to go back to 3 yet.

Wonder if ee would be better than both... But no decent sim deals about

My basic Three contract comes with wifi calling. Its a life saver as reception in my apartment is awful
i can start haggling for stuff like this from tuesday. i'm paying them £12 for AYCE Mins & Texts and 12gb of data at the moment so we'll have to see.

ideally i wouldn't mind a new handset but that might be a bit pricey
You can get this same package for £10 after cashback at mobilephonesdirect. It's £18, but you get £8 cashback for every month, paid after the 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th months of the contract.

New customers and current customers can keep number

I tried to see if I could get the s8 at a decent price, but three weren't so hot on that. SIMO on the other hand was much better. Ask to cancel your contract & get through to the disconnections team as they have the better offers. I just asked for 30gb at £15 & that worked.

Three also do fairly good 1 month rolling contracts, so might be worth a try. Then you can chop & change when better offers come up.

that's the plan, but I want to have a few offers ready to throw at them as well. in a perfect world, I'll be able to get 10-20gb for a tenner a month.

that said, I'm actually in no major hurry to re-up the deal either so I might even wait until black Friday in November and see if anyone comes up with something interesting.

You are absolutely right. Especially EE.....
Regarding reception I drove from Newark to Worthing and back on Thursday. I streamed my favourite internet radio station all the way there and back and in the whole trip the signal dropped twice (the same spot both times).

I really have no issues.

Oh and I rang yesterday as my contract is up and they did me this deal but with the feel at home package so it was £18. We do need this as we go to France twice a year, America once a year and we are going to NZ as well next year.
I’m with o2 which are okay for signal but i was previously on Three who i found used to find that bit better for signal ( i don’t rate Three cs though o2 far better ) , EE though was by far the worse I’d never go with them..
I work various places about the northwest 90% the time so based on few locations.

I’m not voting on this deal as it’s for a customer rather than everyone being able to get it
I just got a retention deal for £12pm for AYCE minutes and texts with only 8GB of 4g data, and I came from £10pm for 4GB data with AYCE mins and texts. What do you think I should do to get this offer
I got 200 mins, unlimited text, 30G advanced plan for £10 a month. This was after numerous calls, complaints, showing unhappiness, getting PAC code twice over the last 2 months. To be honest their CS is sh*t in general and they wouldn't budge on anything. It was the customer complaints team who did it for me.
