Three Mobile Broadband, £10 a month, free Modem, 1 GB usage, 18 months Contract, possible quidco

vodafone seem to be the fastest 7.2 meg

3 is 2.8

t mobile is 1.8
-------------------

3

£10 a month for 18 months free dongle 1gb
£15 a month for 18 months free dongle 3gb
£25 a month for 18 months free dongle 7gb.
so total 3 for cheapest is £180 over 18 months

vodafone

£15 a month for 12 months £99 dongle 3gb
£15 a month for 18 months £59 dongle 3gb
£15 a month for 24 months free dongle 3gb.
so total vodafone for cheapest £279 (12 month)

t mobile

£15 a month for 24 months free dongle unlimited I think (but no VOIP allowed)
so total t mobile for cheapest £360

--------------

but there is an offer that (bit confusing but i will try and make it simple for you and me)

get t mobile at carphone warehouse

is £15 a month for 24 months
plus £120 back (twice £60, through cash back after months 4 and
plus £60 cashback via quidco

so total is £180 but contract is 24 months, and hope to send statements of in time and hope you get quidco.

so three is shorter term, same price, faster speed, possible QUIDCO

confused lol:o

I wouldn't sign up to an 18month contract as the mobile companies are soon to be ordered by Ofcom to lower prices but if you do need wireless broadband right away this is a decently priced deal.

Totally agree, and so did the surprisingly astute guy in the 2 shop I spoke to about this! 18 month contracts on any telecommunications deals should be avoided if at all possible. Took my first one with three mobile recently, but given the choice available (and that I immediately sold the k850i for £200) it was one of those 'no choice' deals.

what's special. why this is deal as it is standard price for 1GB, isn't it?

Good deal but one correction here.

It's 3GB but not "unlimited" monthly data allowance for the quoted T-mobile tariff.

Doesn't Three already offer PAYG £10/GB mobile broadband including free modem?

When you run out, pay another tenner.

No, you have to pay £99 for the modem in PAYG.

no you have to buy the usb modem yourself at a cost of £99 from 3 then its £15 a month for 3gb
Mine cost me £75 off ebay , works a treat

theres an echo in here

Be VERY careful with 3G card contracts and how you use your modem.

We've recently had two bills at work for £6000 and £9000 on two 3G cards (per quarter).

I signed up for the '3' 3gb per month, 12 month contract and still get a free modem.

Seems like the best deal to me.

Are these any good? Is th speed poor in some areas?

Also, don't take the Vodafone connection speed as best i.e. 7.2 this is for inner cities and airports only so very restricted, I only got old gprs speeds read very slow so took it back within 14 days, have also been charged twice for modems that I never received - so not keen on Vodafone as a good company!

Why would ANYONE opt for this when they can just go to Sky or Virgin and get a better service

So how would Sky or Virgin work when you're not at home...

Well, if you plan on moving a 12 month sky contract is no good- plus it's MOBILE so can be used anywhere, not just at home. Going to the countryside for the weekend? Take it. Got a stay in a hotel for work? Take it. Nice day but got some research you have to get done? Sit in the park and do it. I'll get one of these when my sky's out in May, and will never go back to a fixed line again.

I agree with the speed issue, If you are not in a town or city forget comfertable surfing. In fact it drives me round the bend but if you need a connection in remote places its a godsend. In fact, @ £10 a month with 3 (who I am with) this has been a good saviour for the odd time my home broadband has gone down or network has gone down. Three's ZTE modem does support 7.2Mbs although not supported by the network, give it time like everything...

hi all i got 3g on 12 month contract £15 from 3mobile . this is to use at our caravan so im hoping it works , anyway got 14 days moneyback guarantee if it doesnt. also quidco £8 and £20 accessory voucher using code found on here seems like the best deal around at the moment .. happy surfing

guv;1693971

Ouch! Did they get sacke/d

No, but the IT manager got reamed (or rimmed?) for it, as he had set a PC up on a remote site in such a way that you had to log on to the company network to log on to the PC, necessitating the 3G to be connected all the time!

The other one was a laptop that had the 3G connected all the time. The company 'pushes' updates to the PCs irrespective of their method of connection, resulting in masses of unwanted data transfer. They also do a lot of other (possibly sinister) stuff which also uses up data allowance!

Worst thing is, that it isn't the FIRST time it has happened!!

garbage456;1697539

hi what quidco shop and accessory voucher please?

quidco (www.quidco.co.uk) the cash back site returns £8, the £20 accessory voucher code is HS22020806 or try HS08110726 hope this helps

Bought mobile modem in 3 shop today for £6.99 and put £10 credit on. Set up easy but after just over 1 hour of general surfing (no music or video downloads) there is only 3p of credit left. I presume I am doing something wrong. This seems ludicrouslyly expensive. Any thoughts before I take it back to shop?

Thanks

Not got one yet but i believe you top it up and then convert the credit to 1GB of broadband access through "My 3" before using it. Otherwise I guess you've been using it at a rate of £1 per Mb!

elvis, you've not read the instructions properly. You needed to buy the "add-on" for Broadband Lite £10.

A 1GB limit is ridiculous, don;t sign up to anything with less than 3GB
