Now Samba has gone, I was looking for the next best thing and I think this might be the deal for me.

Earlier in the week they had very limited stock locally and wouldn't do free delivery.

Tried again this morning and lo and behold - FREE DELIVERY!

This tends to move fast and they sell out quick, so don't hang about!

none anywhere near me
for the nano that is

No Nano or micro near me either and not available for delivery.

Obviously limited, but great for anyone wanting a standard sim.

standard sim and scissors it is then!

beware, 3's coverage is appalling.

I find 3s coverage the best of all networks for my iPad.

Ideal for the samba people very hot for me, ordered two

How long is the data valid for, 30 days?

I picked up a microsim from in store yesterday, along with that cheapo camera bag.

However, really I wanted normal size cards.... this is a brilliant price - I've ordered a years worth as pay and collect orders. Hopefully they won't think they are incorrect duplicates and cancel!

£36 for a years 3G internet..... brilliant!

Yes. It's 1gb for 30 days, but the 30 days don't start until the sim is put in a device, so buy 3 and its 3 months worth - btw, the 3 month 3gb version is £20 on amazon.

Absolute bargain.

You can get the sim cutters for a few quid on eBay and Amazon.

micro SIMs available in Tottenham Court road branch...

or you can use a template off the web

or if you have a microsim and need it to be std you should be able to get adapters from most phoneshops for a quid or for free

i personally use the sim cutter method

Managed to get 4 for home delivery 2x2 orders before they changed to not available, no stock at any stores within 60 miles of me either, cheers to OP

At £2.99? The guy in there yesterday told me T-Mobile/EE are a better deal and to try down the road for a SIM when I asked to buy this one!

Anecdotally, I've found 3 to have the best coverage on the West Coast rail line between London and Birmingham (on London Midland, not Virgin) - easily peeing all over O2 and Vodafone (who are particularly dreadful on this route).

Does this work abroad? i.e. 1 GB data on holiday for nought?

that explains a lot, all their masts must be on that route

Standard size now unavailable for home delivery

Banned

heat for price

Have some heat...

Although you can get some cheap data PAYG sims with other networks on fleabay for the same amount with no expiry..

one example is

ebay.co.uk/itm…9fc

Although this one DOES have an expiry..

Depends on location.
iirc 3 specialises in built up areas and tends to avoid anything smaller then a medium sized town.
The coverage around me is terrible (only Orange/EE/T-Mobile work), but its out in the middle of no-where so there isn't really any money in it (compared to a city).

Anyone know of any good priced data sim with no expiry (or at least 3-6months)? for those odd road trips when no wifi is available

The 3 PAYG package is great (3,2,1) but their coverage can be poor.

I was down in Devon/Cornwall recently and often got no signal! I guess their service is focused mainly on the cities but there's no excuse for poor coverage in the UK.

NOT free delivery.

Only free click and collect.... somewhere no one lives around probably.

cant find any anywhere

I don't agree, I live in the middle of nowhere and have really good signal with three. (I'm sure they share transmitters with EE)

0.1Mbps Three 3G speed in my area. 8).

They might have improved or joined recently.
I bought a 3 phone when they first started doing PAYG and the only way to get a single in our house was either via the bathroom window at a certain angle/position or about 3 miles outside of any of the towns.
Since I live in a low population village which doesn't have any nearby businesses pushing for a provider they tend to just leave us be.

Well, GSM-R masts on that route if I'm really being pedantic gsmronline.com/cab…php

Nothing even close -_-

Just received the following email:-

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we regret to inform you that you may not receive your order within the delivery timescale indicated on the website. We will contact you shortly to discuss the matter with you, in the meantime please accept our apologies for the potential delay.

These are available for home delivery again.

Hot, comes in handy when my broadband is down, and i need to use my dongle for emergency's.
3 charges £2.99 for 24 hours access with 500mb data, or £10 for the month.
£3 for emergency use isn't bad for a GB

Cheers, ordered 2 lots of 2 micro sims :-)

what are the speeds of this? as close to 4g ?

I believe the 3 network will be going 4G and no charge for 4G so should be 4G if your device is capable and in a 4G area

nice one thanks
