UPDATE. CALL THROUGH. REFUSE ANY DEAL THEY OFFER YOU, THEN THEY PUT YOU THROUGH TO "CANCELLATIONS" WHERE IF YOU PERSIST, YOU CAN GET THIS DEAL FOR £9.

A heads up for anyone being chucked off Three's previous range of unlimited data plans.

I received the letter and text from them to give me notice of my contract ending and that they would put me on £20 a month from £12.90 which I felt was unreasonable so I called customer services and ran through the exclusive retention deals with the advisor. I settled on unlimited minutes and texts with 4GB of data for £12 per month. This is usually £21 per month for new customers and offers the largest discount at £9 per month or £108 per year. Also allows tethering of your data which I did not get on my previous deal.

I appreciate there are probably better deals with TalkTalk and other networks however I take advantage of 3 huge benefits with the three network that means sticking with them makes sense for me

1) Capped spend can be £0 more than your price plan. Prevents unexpected large bills calling numbers not included in the price plan or going over your data allowance etc
2) Feel at home most people are already aware of. I travel for work and find this feature hugely cost saving
3) Very good customer service. I always seem to get straight through to customer service and they are open 7 days a week.

Although not for everyone, i hope this post comes in handy for anyone thinking of leaving Three since their old package is going end of life.

just got the same for my sister on virgin for a tenner a month, obviously without tethering but she'd never use that
I got all 3 family contracts reduced to £9 per month with this exact deal 2 weeks ago...worth haggling

Best network by far especially if you travel internationally...get off a plane and your calls and (especially) data comes out of your package without having to do a thing!
got same deal down to £9 ... keep haggling .... took nearly 45 minutes on phone with some condescending pick telling me how good a deal he was giving me before eventually being passed to disconnections who gave me the £9 deal oO
It's a reasonable deal, problem is not everyone can get it. I've 2 contracts with Three that are finishing now, but they won't give me anything decent so I've asked for my PAC code. There's no leeway from them.
You can get exactly that deal from ID on a rolling monthly contract and its even still on 3's network.
Sorry not exactly that deal, 500 mins, 5000 txts, 4gb rolling. No need to deal with the rude **** holes at 3.

The "goons" you speak to BEFORE you get passed to retentions are so patronizing (keep in mind they are ALL Indian based call centres at Three) they are prob on less a month than what some peoples monthly mobile contracts cost.
It's purely a cost saving exercise for Three overseas call centres, but Three wont even let them handle card payments for upgrades or anything, all extras done through the UK direct debit you have in place, this also keeps card details out of a foreign country.
I am a massive fan of Three, LOVE using the feel at home plan, its groundbreaking and a model other UK networks could learn from, last used in New York this year flawless service using T-Mobile USA & AT&T.
However you cant have a "normal" conversation with the Indian staff, they are SO script heavy it frustrates customers rather than advancing their issue or deal.
I got quoted £69 per month for the S7 Edge unlimited everything on my S5 upgrade, even retentions would not budge, ended up coming into some money so bought the phone outright from Samsung and went back to Three to see what they could do now i wasnt taking a phone, i got the unlimited everything sim from them for £20 per month usually (£29).
My dealings with Three during my upgrade were not one i'd like to do again any time soon.
The trick is to get to disconnections/retentions and the quickest way to do that is to say you've already signed a new deal elsewhere - whether you have or not.

I did this when my letter putting me up to £20 from £12.90 came through and I had the offer of this deal for £9 in 10 mins.

If you're tempted by "feel at home" in Three - be warned it's not a regular internet access. Because of extreme heavy traffic shaping some services are just unusable. While you can check Facebook, download some e-mails or even make video-call using Skype, the rest doesn't work. This include VPN connections. I was trying to check my security cameras at home while on holiday in Spain and.. nothing. Connected, but not a single picture transferred, all apps connecting forever and finally ended with timeout.

Shame. It was very good network for years and I was loyal customer. But I refuse to pay price for O2 takeover.
Mind that you don't have to speak to anybody, just use online chat on their website, that's how I got this deal.

I really don't get their business model, I was paying £12.90 a month before for AYCE data but never actually used more than 2GB a month. Now paying £12, so they're loosing £0.90 a month instead of just leaving me on the old plan. Daft.
Best I could get this was £12 for 12 months locked in even though my one plan was out of contract. I then asked for a month rolling, same deal £13.

Was this deal a 12 month contact?
I spoke to retention and then cancellation several times to get the 4gb deal at 9 they kept on refusing must have called back like 5 times. They offered 8gb for 14 but then i took my pac and went to ee for 16gb deal for 16. 50 with topcashback at 25 working out just shy of 15. Iam happy with that as three wouldn't offer me unlimited for anything more than 20 pound plus only 200 minutes. Ee do give free calls and texts to most of EU country's within the European country's but no data.
My new Three - new AYCE (30GB tether limit) everything plan has started a couple of days ago but can anyone tell me if that amount that you see when you go to -

http://mobile.three.co.uk/account/my3/allowc

i.e.
Personal Hotspot 30,720MB

Does this change as you use Hotspot (tether)?

It is the same access...youre issue in Spain would have been due to the network you were roaming with..nothing more.

I have taken over 200 international flights in the last two years and used the free roaming service every time (except the odd country like Poland) without a hiccup.
I got 30gb data with unlimited minutes and text on a 12 month sim only contract for £20 per month. Which is a great price.
got £18 pm 30gb unlimited minutes and texts, tethering too. still think it's a bit bad I was on a tariff everything unlimited for £15 pm for many years. all of a sudden no we can't do that you new tariff is much better value.? in one way it is still good value but it's certainly not better value.
Hi all

how you all getting the unlimited everything and 30gig tether for £20 as I have phoned 5 times and used online chat twice and sent a complaint and still they can not do me that deal ?

when did you all go onto this deal I just don't understand this as I am on the one plan and have 30 days to move or take there normal tariffs. I have requested my pac code yesterday but no phone calls back or nothing,

got the 12 deal for the wife form her 300 sim only deal so that's an extra £2 a month but she gets a lot more for it which is not bad as she was getting 300min 3000txt and 1gb data

cheers all
I had 2 One Plans; one is down to £9 a month AYCE Mins and Texts and 4gb data. The other contract they were not prepared to budge on AT ALL, and that was even speaking with complaints based in Scotland - he was rude, obnoxious and even when I have pointed out I could get the deals they were offering me £2 a month cheaper as a new customer than being an existing one, he basically said tough! He asked for my permission to close the complaint, and I said no because it hasn't been resolved, and he said well I'm closing it anyway!

Three will fast become history - I recorded the 3 calls that I made to them - email gone to David Dyson and the directors of Three with uploaded soundclips of the phone calls to them to see what they think of how the company is treating customers.

I would rather pay more elsewhere than to stay with Three - when my other contract comes to an end it will be move, same as with my wifes contract too.

Disgusting behaviour from them now - attitude has changed in the past month.

I think I got the same Scottish chap. I ended up with a rolling month contract after calling back a few days later. 13 quid 4gb and ayce mins and texts. I will shift when someone can offer better deal, sky should be starting their mobile service soon and didn't want to lock in for 12 months, esp as the data service is poor, random drops. I was only paying under a tenner for the one plan for the last 21 months. So I suspect it might be because of that they didn't offer the deal for 9 quid. The guy said I can change plans anytime but can't get to a lower price plan. But I bet someone will come along tell me they were paying less than me on the one plan and still got the 9 quid deal lol

If it was Tim, then yes it would be the same chap.

No calls back from them after getting my PAC, which was totally different to my first One Plan change.

As I say, totally shocking and if there are any employees or 'helpers' from Three on here, I would love them to pass any info back or maybe they can tell us why the change in attitude.

Was this deal a 12 month contact?

Yes this was 12 months and 14 days to change my mind. on the phone to them now to cancel it. customer for 4 years and they won't match the £9 deal others got so i'm leaving them.
Called them back and it seems the £9 deal is only available via the disconnections team. The advisor went away and spoke with a manager but DID honour the £9 deal! So looks like I'm staying put afterall and sticking with Three for at least another 12 months. I will update the deal accordingly

I wonder if they will now offer you a better deal, my new 1 month rolling starts on the 14th of may but I have also have 14 days to cancel (from Friday)

I have to disagree with the benefits overseas. Calling home isn't enough. Using internet in Feel At Home destinations is free and has proven invaluable to me working away. Three customer services are based overseas but they are open all week and always answer the phone quickly.

Three has roaming in Spain with two networks - same problem.
Local SIM (one of these 2 networks) inserted in the same device - everything starts working without any issues.

Poland is not a "Feel at home" country.

Have you been using anything different than advertised by Three "holiday spam" which usually means Facebook, Twitter, e-mail, skype, whatsapp etc? Have you been using VPN?

First....I realise that Poland is not a feel at home country hence the exclusion lol.
Second...Yes I do access non-standard things such as VPN....my home media server etc
Third...All Service providers (3, O2 etc) will try and force 'preferred providers' in each country. Unlike some of the others (Corporate Vodafone....im looking at you) 3 doesnt lock them out. If you go into your devices menu you should be able to manually select the service provider you want to use when overseas.

If this still persists I suggest you talk to 3 to check your data and phone connection. Sometimes numbers get split when assigned (so outgoing texts for example go out on one telephone number and are received on a different one) so check to see if this is the case (its like a double NAT in networking terms) which may cause issue with your VPN.
Hope this helps....

suppose its down the the persons need call home is enough for me . I have little use of Internet when abroad usually use hotels and business wifi. ee offered me 19.99£ unlimited calls and text 16gig Internet . plus 50£cashback. 3three couldn't come close to that price .
I had the same offer. But 4GB is nothing these days. I got the BT offer 20GB for £16. Better coverage.
when you take a new deal how long until you can pull out as I took the £12 deal for my wife and don't know if I should try it on or move to EE

was that a12 month contract ? I was thinking of getting a pay as you go sim to try them out for a week to see how good the coverage is. I am with BT broadband but they don't offer wifi calling or tethering and the £16 is finished and now is £20 so the only difference is

bt 20gig no tether no wifi calls
EE 16gig with tether and wifi calls
But both are £20 since you got that deal.

how did you get it did you say you where moving from three and wanted some better deals as EE don't do that on there website for £20, did you use the online chat ?

Got it too! Great value.....happy boy!
I just spoke to "Peter" from Three and he offered me unlt.minutes, unlt text and 4Gb data for £14.00. He would not go down a penny on this, even when I told him, they offered it to someone else. so I have requested PAC code. Now help me to find a better deal.
