Hi, could you actually explain how I can get this deal?

My 12months contract ended this month (unlt, unlt, 4GB - for 9p/m).

I will be grateful, thanks.

Can find these on their website

link to details, please?

Please mention in the title "Existing customer" as you did in the description.

I think they hate me. They never give me these kind of offers when I call to see what's available!

I’ve just taken a 12 month sim only with 12gb data unl calls and texts and binge for £12 pm

Great just what my aunt needs next Tuesday.
I hope I can get it for her.

I took the £10 8gb deal today 😁

Do we have to call and pretend we’re leaving to get these deals? 🤔

I called and they refused to give the £7 a month deal, telling me it does not exist.

This is ok if you don’t use “feel at home” etc .... if you do stay away!

I was also offered this deal two weeks ago when I rang them once my contract had just expired.

To answer damienscotland's question, I reviewed what was available from other suppliers. At the time Smarty was offering an interesting deal. I rang 'Three' and explained that I was considering leaving them and moving to Smarty. At that time, I genuinely was considering it. I had to endure a pretty much disinterested CS operative who insisted on offering me 'once in a lifetime, just because I'm a valued customer', standard deals which I politely declined. As nothing he could offer was remotely competitive, I told him I would like to give notice to terminate my contract with them.

I was tranfered to another department which I suspect was their retentions department. The lady, who by the way was way more approachable and effective started to process my details. At some point, I can't remember when the conversation touched on why I wanted to leave. I informed her that I actually didn't but as her colleague couldn't come anywhere close to the Smarty deal I had no choice but to leave. At that point she quickly offered me the above deal which I was happy to accept. The only slight negative was that because it was an ammendment to my original contract I wasn't entitled to the new 'Binge' offer.

Finally, something I hadn't realised. Apparently, retention deals like these do lock you in for an additional 12 months but after that they are open ended. That is to say, they don't expire. Therefore, in my case apparently I'll be paying £7 plus whatever annual increase until I cancel the contract.

I hope the above helps.

I thought essential plans included feel at home for within Europe ....

Even if you phone and choose to go through to cancellations sometimes you get there but others you get standard customer services. As mentioned before you can usually tell by the offers they give you, if they just match the website and give a lot of flannel then no doubt you're speaking to CS. I called and spoke to them and said i'd have a shop around, phoned back 2 days later explaining i'd found a Topcashback deal giving 30gb with £65 cashback effectively making it £11.50/month and although they tried saying they don't ever offer cashback i just replied saying that i've used TCB for years and that the link takes me direct to the 3 website he then asked what my usage was, he went away for 2 minutes and came back offering 200 minutes (even though they say they don't do low minutes on high data packages) with Unlimited texts and Unlimited data with 30gb hotspot and on the avanced plan on a 30 day contract @ £12/month (previously paying £13 for 8gb). Needless to say i bit his arm off and can't see that i'll ever have to phone back and barter again.

This no doubt is a decent deal for those wanting to pay as little as possible but just be aware that retentions can give fantastic contracts when needed.

The TCB one was a 12 month with 30gb data and not unlimited so was a no brainer to go with the retentions offer.

i dont need unlimited so do you think it would be a good idea to go with the 12 for 13 pounds offer making it 8 pounds with cashback, im only using 4 gb usually right now

If you want the ease of just ordering all online and then accepting that the cashback will take a couple of months to be payable then with your usage that deal sounds ideal. Obviously bare in mind that if you are already on 3 then you would need to transfer your current number onto PAYG and then after a month port that number onto the new sim meaning you'd efffectively need the 2 sims in use at the same time to get messages etc on your old number and also be able to use your allowanced on the new one.
Also after 12 months it would effectively jump from the £8 to £13 as the cashback will already have been taken into account so you'll either just have to keep paying it or look for another deal/phone retentions for a better offer.

why would i have to wait a month

kamikazilucas11 m ago

why would i have to wait a month

Thats if you are already with 3 and want to keep your current phone number. You can't port numbers from a provider while on a non payg tarif to the same provider so the only way to do that would be to transfer your current number to payg then after a month then transfer that to your new contract sim.

If you either don't care about what number you have or are with a different provider then it wouldn't be a problem....for the latter you'd just request a PAC code from your current provider.

I was on this 4gb deal for £9 a month, my deal ran out Sept this year but in August I upgraded to 8gb data for £12 a month, asked for my pac code last week as considering getting a phone on contract and the best they offered me was 8gb for £10 a month, I said I would have it on 30 day rolling but they insisted it was for 12 months and wouldn't budge

What's the lowest anybody has got the 8gb deal for?
Either 30 days or 12month plan
any chance getting this for £8 or less

It has roaming in EU only. Not feel at home.

C u next Tuesday!

Three offer really good deals. I took a monthly rolling contract for £20 per month with 12gb of data unltd texts and mins back in August. Then when I rang to cancel as I only needed it for a month and a half I was asked why I want to cancel so I explained and then they put me through to retentions, they offered me the same deal for £7 per month which was ridiculous but I still had 6 months on my main contract so couldn’t take it at the time. Now it’s running out and I am not sure I will be able to get anything close

Got got 8gb for £10 the other week, don’t really need that much but I was paying £11 pm. It’s good to ring up with a better deal and say your going to leave and sign up to it (well I find).

On this £7 deal since two months. Was not offered by the first CS person had to keep asking for PAC. Transferred to second CS guy who offered this deal. Caveats: no personal hotspot and no feel at home OUTSIDE the EU.
Brilliant price.

Exactly. That's why I'm leaving my contract as it is. I once used £300 worth of data during a week in Spain and it didn't cost me anything over my normal monthly fee.

I've also used it in Hong Kong and a few other places as well.

Are you not able to use your minutes/data at the same price now anyway in Europe?

They don't hate you they have loads of people grandfathered into these cheap deals so when they give someone it they know it's for life or until they do a 'one plan' letter on you.
