This requires some haggling with three, i haggled few weeks ago and managed to get my self £13 a month deal unlimited text, minutes and 8gb which i assume was a retention deal.

Today i rang them up saying i want more data without breaking my wallet and other providers are doing great deals right now and i gave the example of virgin deal for £15 and that they offered it to me for £7.50 a month.

after hearing this the advisor gave me their usual deals they offer or have on sale but i rejected and said i do not want to pay more and simply want more data and straight away he said he will speak with his manager so after 2 minutes he offered me that deal unlimited EVERYTHING! for £16 a month on 30 day rolling contract and he said its beacuse i have been with three for over 3 years.

good luck guys but i guess it might work mainly for peoples who had £13 a month rentention deal with three and also do not expect this at first call as i had to call twice beacuse the first advisor was no was lettting me have a cheaper deal.

I got 4gb data, unlimited texts/minutes for £11 on a 30-day rolling contract which i was happy with via retentions on 3. I don't tether or travel much so it's perfect for me and may suit someone with similar needs.

It seems like Sim Only plans are the way to go these days.

yeah sim only is a money saver dude and most importantly some haggling to save extra ££.

Can you tether with this?

Three's 4G signal (and even HSPA+) is woefully bad in London. I'll be leaving first chance I get, which is a shame because my 30GB allowance is really nice to have.

Yup, once I mentioned the Uswitch offer, he immediately matched it but wanted me to commit to a 12-month contract for £10pm but instead he offered £11 on a 30-day contract.

It's about time we started seeing some decent Sim Only offers considering the cost of the higher-end handsets are offsetting the cost of the overall contract. One example being the S7-edge he offered me for £38pm with the above tariff.

I got an Honor 8 phone for £269 on Black Friday so this works out perfect.

If you've got a decent handset, this is definitely the way forward.

Seems to be the way. Phones aren't making leaps and bounds anymore.

I'm happy with my s6 edge. Come Aug I'll be doing a sim retention deal with Vodafone. Don't think they do unlimited data though

i got offered £9 unlimited data and text 600mins call also comes with 30gb tethering and feel at home on a 30 days rolling contract talk to the cancellation team

he tried to get me in a 12 month contract with his first offer so i said no thanks.

If you're comfortable in disregarding t&c, have an Android device and use PDAnet / Foxfi as the hotspot app, the only limitation to tethering is the amount of data available to the handset.

So the dumbwits forced hundreds of thousands (millions ?) of people off the One Plan which was £14/16 a month and now they are trying to lure people back with the same deal ?

Madness.

Not the same deal. One Plan offered unlimited tethering which seems to have been the primary motivation in 3 withdrawing the (abused) One Plan.

I've been with Three since 2004, maybe I'll qualify... doubt it.

You will assuming you're due an upgrade. If not, just quote the offers and tell them you're leaving - never fails.

Dont seem to have to much of an issue in London.

Still waiting for someone to get as good a deal as I was able to get (and am still on)...

2000 mins
5000 texts
Truly unlimited internet
Unlimited tethering
£8.38 a month
Rolling contract

Was lucky to get discount upon discount each year renewing back in the day and haven't changed since.

Great 4G/coverage, never had an issue with them, so this is still a good deal but if you push them, you can get for even less.

Three's coverage in Central London (Oxford Street area) was atrocious during my brief visit. Practically unusable even for Google Maps.

Not had many issues anywhere else in London.

Did anyone get an angry/jealous email from Three that EE owns too much network?

cold as its specific to you

Customer loyalty for ya just like Virgin. This deal has made me realise that I need to tell them I'm leaving. Had a few calls in the summer trying to sell me phones and when I mentioned other better sim only deals they seemed to go deaf.

I get unlimited mins and texts and I think 4 GB data for not much less than this.

What amazes me with all the providers is lack of coverage. Seriously, you can't ever be more than 20 miles from a mast in this country how hard can it be to provide a signal? God knows what people in the USA and Australia signal is like proper miles from civilization!

Requesting a Pac and going to cancel VM - thanks OP

oddly I'm still on that deal £15, no price increase, no retention deal. Looks like they forgot about me. 30day rolling too

Can't beat Three if you travel abroad often. I got £2400 of data for free on a recent trip to the US

I just rang three has my contract expired a few months ago and I'm on monthly rolling. I've been with three for 6 years or more. They say this offer the OP made doesn't exist at all. I rang several times and spoke to different people and all of them saying the same thing even when they've spoken to their supervisors

Edit. I was paying £35 as I had a handset at the time

Hotspot is no more than 2GB rolling contracts or 4Gb on a 12 month contract

Same. Wouldn't offer me anything

I wouldn't touch Three with a barge pole. The charged me for 11 months for a service I didn't receive and had formally cancelled in writing and on the phone when I reported my iPad stolen. I was on a rolling 1 month contract. Cheap but if you go with them I'd record all calls dates and send all correspondence recorded delivery.

Ive tried the Foxfi app, doesnt work. Three has probably fixed that loophole. How did you manage? Please help a workaround for benefit of others.

Thanks in advance.

FoxFi 2.15.2 works flawlessly on all my Android 4 - 5.1 devices; will test an Android 6 device over the weekend. When I check the 3 account, it shows 0GB tether allowance used, and the expected amount of on-handset data used.
What does "not work" mean: app doesn't install; or app doesn't load; or the app doesn't detect cellular data; or the app doesn't create a wifi hotspot; or the tethered device cannot decode the WPA2 encryption.
Not much to assist with:
load the FoxFi app
if you want: pay for the unlock key (or obtain from other sources)
enter your prefered network name
enter your preferred password
check the "activate wifi hotspot" box.
Job done.

Not if your using Android

I just left yesterday and got offered 13 for unlimited calls, mins and 8gb - as I've been with them for 3 years. This is on their website as a new customer deal! They also offered 19 for unlimited, unlimited and 30gb. Again available to new customers, that infuriated me! So left.

4G, h+ signal is woeful where I live and work anyway.
