I just left Three after over nine long years with them. Originally signed up because they were the cheapest mobile network but their reception is the worst I have had from any provider.

Almost zero reception in the house and frequent black spots where I'd have to restart my phone just to get the signal back. For ages I just put up with it and asked friends and family to contact me via WhatsApp but enough was enough.

I joined Virgin Media last week who piggyback off EE and it feels like I just stepped out of the stone age. I had never seen maximum bars on my phone for reception. When I call someone or vice versa it was crystal clear and the 4G is lightening fast. I wish I had jumped ship a lot sooner.

This is a cheap deal but just be warned that they are cheap for a reason. In fact, after the deal I'm on now I would argue that they are not even value for money anymore like they used to be. I was on a sim-only deal with unlimited minutes and texts and 8gb of data for £11.29 a month. The Virgin one I'm on now is just £10 a month but has 15gb of data.

Anyway, the problems I mentioned were not exclusive to me with many friends and family members having similar problems. Just be aware of this before signing up to a cheap deal.

It's a great month for me, finally managed to move the whole family away from Three and good bloody riddance. Signal at my home address disappeared nearly 18 months ago, and after countless complaints to Three my wife got a total refund of £8 on her sim only contract and my Son got absolutely nothing back on his £60 iPhone contract. Their answer was to use WiFi calling instead!! The company are an absolute disgrace.

Get yourself a payandgo sim test the speed before you commit to a long 12 months contract.
Really regret jumping from Vodafone to Three, coverage and speed is appalling. More to consider than just price.

Cracking deal.
not bad deal, i just signed up to id-mobile they have 1 month rolling contract for £6 a month with 3GB and roll-over data, unlimted calls/text
Good deal. Slightly confusing, but if you go via Topcashback, you get the deal for £7 per month, with £27.50 cashback, which would make that deal £56.50 or £4.70 per month...provided that cashback is paid. I have had only good experiences with TCB, but there are people who have their settings wrongly configured, and blaim/slam TCB for not tracking.

For the 8Gb deal, it works out at £5.29 pm with cashback.

Dont bank on cashback via Topcashback & Three I've been waiting just shy of a year for my cashback, 7 emails later and Topcasback has offered half the cashback as a 'goodwill' gesture as they say Three are not forthcoming. The network is also the worst I've tried on the Fylde Coast, even worse than most MVNO's

Be glad you got the "goodwill gesture". I waited 3 and a half years for a cashback claim with an insurance company and TCB eventually declined it because the company was no longer operating on TCB.

I've also been waiting over a year for a SIM only cashback deal with BT on Quidco.

So yes I totally agree and would like to reinforce your point - do not bank on cashback when considering deals.
I called three, who couldn't offer this deal. But, I managed to get 12gb plan with go binge for £8 pm.

I've no preference either way but it might be down to Three coverage in your area, which may include your local friends and family aswell. I found Three coverage fine and only jumped ship as I'm a SIM tart, always open to a cheaper deal

Anyone considering a change of network would be wise to get a (free) PAYG SIM just to check coverage before signing up to any network for anything longer than a month.

I was also with Three for a number of years before I saw the light. For me, the measure of a company is how they deal with you when you have a problem - any provider can seem great until you need them to sort something out!

We came back off holiday 18 months ago to find we had no signal on Three (wife and both of my Son's contracts) or EE (my contract). Reported it immediately to both companies. Three did absolutely nothing apart from arguing that there was no problem; EE investigated thoroughly and found that the problem was due to overgrowth in a local wooded area blocking our closest mast at Nedge Hill. Three continued to deny that there was a problem with the signal even after I gave them the findings from EE!!

EE have given me a 50% (yes, 50%!!) discount in blocks of 6 months on my contract and continue to do so, backdated to when I first reported the problem; Three have done virtually nothing, apart from waste hours of my time on webchat - you can't even speak to a human being to discuss an issue!!

Really proud that I have now encouraged my wife, both Sons, their partners and my Mum as well as myself to bin Three and move to other providers!!

With customer service such as I've received from EE, I will be renewing my contract with them when it expires in October, even though the problem still hasn't been resolved!

All the big 4 would tell you the same thing use WiFi calling instead if you are in a long contract not just 3.
Also if you are signing up to a new contract make sure you get some payg sims and try before commiting to a long contract then you won't be on here moaning about your provider because they are all as bad as each other what's good where you live is terrible where someone else lives.

You've completely missed the point. As I said, the signal was good but had disappeared when we returned from holiday. Response from EE customer service was brilliant, while Three were atrocious. I'm also with '3' and have stayed because of unlimited data, but honestly, it doesn't matter where you go, the data speeds are awful most of the time. Yes, in some places you get good speed, but sadly most of the time you don't. Like others here, I've stayed because of a cheap unlimited deal, but mainly because of 'roam like at home'. It's like night and day the data speeds you get roaming compared with at home with 3. I don't know what they have done, but it's honestly bad....

Firstly, I didn't see why I should be paying Three for a service but then have to use our own broadband to make a call; secondly, my wife's phone isn't a smartphone (she doesn't want one) and doesn't have WiFi calling.

Jesus, how many times do I have to repeat myself?
