1050 / 1150 lumens.
What would you recommend for a quality brand torch and not just something cheap & poor quality from xbay?.

Olight torches. They are expensive but very good and bright.

Surefire are good i have a kroma i bought years ago. Only 150 lumens but very bright and well made

Thrunite are a very good brand as I understand it. I have purchased as it makes a great bike light / general bright torch. Taking AA's is a big plus I have found.

I bought this torch for someone a year ago and was thoroughly impressed. (comparing it to Fenix and other random ones I've used). Really nice quality, nice fit in the hand and PLENTY bright for normal use - dog walking, mountain rescue, blinding stalkers etc. Intuitive mode selection and nice hidden 'moon mode'. If you've got access to loads of 'free' AA's and thinking about a new torch - just buy it!

are pretty under powered compared to this; I have a p14 & p7.2 pro - they do have the focusing ability though..

oh - and I seem to remember something about a lifetime warranty too?..

cheap and good no doubt - but you'd have to buy decent 18650s and a reliable charger to go with it. As someone with a Skyray King - I prefered the Thrunite. Just trying to justify buying one for myself this time...

Great torch, had mine over a year and it's superb. Won't be going back to Ledlenser.

I have a Supfire M6. Needs 18650 x 4 and charger but really well built and at the time of research was seen as a quality piece of kit at a good price. Bought from Mountain Electronics (?) in the States that do an internal mod, to make sure I got a legit one and not a copy. Didn't go for the mod though.

I thought they had a UK / EU distributor (can't find these details so far) but at least its purchased through Amazon.

I got this for £13 last year its 1000 lumens brightest torch i have owned so far.

Bought one, bargain for £33. I've got the TN12 also with single 18650 battery and charger but this TN4A will be a great dog walking, general all purpose torch as have access to free AA batteries Check reviews on YouTube and candle power forums, its rated pretty highly. There's one selling on eBay now with bids for £36.50 so worth every penny I reckon :P

As with most made in China/business in China products... Seems like China businesses are taking over Amazon.

I went for the HI NW 1050lm version, hopefully I'll be pleased with my choice!! Not a fan of cool white colour and the HI one has a tighter beam with longer throw (_;)

new or 2nd hand? that's an amazing price....

The xbay auction has finished @ a total price of nearly £46 so nearly £4 above the new price from Amazon!. Don't undestand why people don't google things on ebay before they set a max bid price...

How have you found it works as a bike light?
Can you recommend a mount?
Is the lack of zoom a problem?
And is the spread good enough?
Does it have useful brightness settings?

I've tried to search regarding using a torch as a bike light, and it's hard to get current advice on torches that are suitable.
For example a focused beam wouldn't be much good.
I did hear good things about the Klarus XT11GT
I've just ordered this which will hopefully work well:
hotukdeals.com/dea…740

I have seen comments that zooms aren't good. And most good brands like Klarus, Olight etc. don't provide a zoom it seems.
But I was thinking it'd give more scope for getting the right spread.

I use this one and cut away the sides a bit (it can take a nitecore ea4);
ebay.co.uk/itm…AIT

I have a nitecore ea4 which is very similar and it works well as abiek torch; it has a wide enough spread and has good throw combined different light levels.
