Seems like a very good price for the bundle considering the TH8A retails for £130 on its own. This comes with:

  • T150 wheel
  • T3PA pedal set
  • TH8A shifter

The T150 is a belt + gear driven wheel and the reviews I've seen for it make it seem comparable to the ever popular G29 (although I haven't had experience with either personally - would love to hear your thoughts below)

Bargain..really good deal
Shifter on its own is about £120.
This is a bargain me thinks, I'd be all over this if I didnt have a T300RS, well spotted OP
TH8A is £139.99 so £20 for a wheel and pedal set not too bad Super Hot !!!
Thanks OP. Ordered....now can anyone recommend a playseat/stand

*I do not own/have not tried any products I mention here so please take everything I say with a pinch of salt. These are just my opinions after reading/watching some reviews*

In terms of stands there are the ones with a single pillar (like the Wheel Stand Pro) and then there are the ones with two pillars (like the GT Omega Racing Steering Wheel Stand). These types of stands are usually around £100, although the Wheel Stand Pro is slightly cheaper. Personally I like the look of the dual-pillar type stands better (especially with a three pedal set-up) as I can see the central pillar of the single pillar stands getting in the way. Also the dual pillar stands appear sturdier.

The Playseat Challenge is more expensive at over £160. The driving position looks strange to me although nobody else seems to comment on this in reviews. It's worth noting that if you buy this you'll have to do some DIY or buy a third party add-on if you want to use the shifter. This still may be a good option as reviews for this seem very positive. Also if you have a chair with wheels, you could find that pressing the pedals causes you to move backwards if using a stand/mounting on a table. Clearly the Playseat Challenge does not suffer from this problem

Both the stands mentioned at the start and the Playseat fold down for easy storage. Playseat also make some more expensive products however these don't fold down. There are also some (much) more expensive full rigs (which again do not fold down). The main advantages these seem to have is stability and enhanced "realism"(?).

It is worth noting that the T150 cannot be hard-mounted and as such must be clamped. This renders certain wheel stands unusable. There is a third party adapter available for the T150 to allow it to be hard mounted however it ships from the US and as such is rather expensive to buy here (about £40).

Personally I have just ordered a GT Omega wheel stand with a shifter mount from their official eBay shop here for £104. HTH

Hi, I can highly recommend the Playseat Challenge. It doesn’t look the greatest but as far as comfort and driving position is concerned it is great. It also folds up fully with wheel and pedals attached and can easily be stored away.
I use mine a lot and don’t regret it.
I was put off by the look vs the price but that was put to rest after the first time I used it. It also gets used by my family and is easily adjusted to suit most sizes.

Compatible with the Thrustmaster TH8A shifter (sold separately)

? Look at the title/click on the "Get Deal" link, you'll see the TH8A is bundled with the wheel. In the product description for the wheel it says the TH8A is sold separately because it usually is. Whoever posted the "additional info" simply copied and pasted the product description for the wheel.
@Sallos19 Can you edit your "additional info" comment please - the shifter is not sold separately - it is included in this bundle. This has already misled at least two people (one of which deleted their comment).
Incredible Deal. Shifter alone makes this worth It. Great Starter package!
Hey @sofaclass appologies for the confusion. This has been edited now. Thanks for posting such a great deal!

Why do you need a shifter? I don't get why you would want a manual when you have flappy paddles on the wheel for gear changing. Is there a particular title this is used for?

For any car in the game that doesnt have paddles, old racing cars for example. Heel and toe downshifts are extremely rewarding in games such as project cars or iRacing.

Paddles for sequential cars, H-shifter and clutch for manual cars. The TH8A also comes with an additional top-plate to turn it into a sequential shifter. Some people won't use/care about the shifter (in which case this isn't actually a good deal - unless you're planning on selling the shifter), others will use the shifter.

Not all racing games are just F1 cars.

I'm struggling to think of a proper racing title featuring cars with an H-pattern gearbox that doesn't.

I have F1 and GT but the idea of using a manual just doesn't make sense.
My Golf has a stick shift, now that is fun

I had a very similar stand when I had the Logitech G920 wheel with shifter and bought from eBay for £90.
Just feel the prices for these stands are extortionate compared to how much you pay for the wheel etc..
wow my childhood dream still a little bit expensive to me, has anyone purchased it at a lower price before?

Because these two titles are not simulators. Try Assetto Corsa or iRacing and you will find that using a manual makes sense.

The PC sims do. iRacing, Assetto Corsa, Project Cars, Dirt Rally ... list goes on. Even Euro/American Truck sim.

Try the Lotus 79 on iRacing with a manual and clutch pedal. It's difficult but fun...

It's for playing games, some people enjoy the challenge of changing gear perfectly with a manual gearbox.
Of course this comes around like a week after I buy a G29 bundle.
Just bought one
Just ordered the logitech g920 the other day from box aswell...180....Hot anyway
How good is this deal really? I've never had/bought a steering wheel + accessories before so I have NO idea, it's not something I've researched before either as only recently I've been able to go out and buy nice stuff like this. Is this good bang for buck?
Can just the wheel/motor end be replaced (with a 300/500) later but keeping the pedals+gearbox from this? I've heard the 150 is a bit cheap and the feedback is weak, but it's my first wheel and I didn't want to drop £500 on a setup only to discover it wasn't fun for me. If it is though, what's the upgrade path like?
While I see this wheel and the Playseat Challenge mentioned together, I should say that I hard-mounted my T150 to the Playseat Challenge by 'drilling out' the front center hole on the mount (to make it a bit wider, probably an 11mm drill bit) and then bolted the wheel directly through that mount point. It was probably something like a 2" long 10mm bolt, and it is really secure (even though most of the base is raised off of the mount, as can be seen in the 2nd photo).

It is much much better than the clamp, which just didn't work for me at all (it would constantly come off).

I would say the shifter is the only thing you would keep from this set when upgrading. Looks like the T3PA pedals are compatible with other wheel bases (this one come with them for instance box.co.uk/Thr…tml ) but there are better metal construction pedals available. You would just sell on the wheel second hand when you were ready to move on and likely not have spent more than buying the shifter on its own.

and it's gone :/ was thinking about it for too long...
Bought one. Thx Sofaclass!!!!.
I was waiting for the Logitech to come down to around £110 again. But I can hopefully sell this shifter for £130ish on ebay, so I get T150 Pro for £30 !!!!
Or maybe I’ll keep it. Need to google how good the shifter is to use.
Bargain.
Sold out now though.
I should have bought more. Assume someone did. Could have easily made £150+ profit from each set if that was your thing.

I would only recommend this to people that like simulation racing like Forza 7 and gran turismo.
I bought a T300RS used 2 times with Forza Horizon 3 back in the day and never again touched it.
You need to put the time in to tweak all the settings. It was just not for me.

Plan is for Forza on the PC and GranTurismo on the PS4...another excuse to get back into gaming. Will need the practice

Assetto Corsa, project Cars 2 and Dirt Rally 2 for me. Wreck fest was fun on my current FFB Saitek wheel, but it doesnt work with any 64-bit games, which is most new games. So chuffed to get this.

Hit me up when/if you auction the shifter.

Just tried to message you, but your messages are off.
I got t150 with 2 pedal set and flappy gears but not got shifter or tspa pedal sets. It's ok good wheel upgradeable with a firmware update and change the degrees of rotation with 2 buttons. Only thing if I knew before I got mine which has 2 pedals and sets available with pro pedals with 3 are better. This at 159 is good price.

Tried mine with GT sport, project cars one and two, dirt rally all good detects it. Going try it on F1 2019 soon.
