I'm sorry but have to vote cold, I bought a pair of new roof bars with 3 year warranty from lidl for £26, whilst I accept the Thule May have better locks, but as for construction no difference. I looked at many roof bars before purchasing the lidl ones, and as an engineer, weighed up the pros and cons up of all the bars I looked at. But I could not justify the extra £75 for these. Also it's worth noting that all the locks on Thule roof bars and boxes, clearly show the lock no. And for £2.85 you can get a replacement key off of ebay, just by quoting the lock no. So not really anymore secure!

Are these the ones that fix on to the rails on your car? Need ones that screw direct to the roof fixings

No, these don't fix onto rails, they fit into the fixing points on your car so they are not for a car with rails already.

You sure the ones you bought from Lidl are bars which fit on to rails (i.e. estate cars normally have rails), or like these ones which fit into fixing points for cars that don't have rails????

that would be stupid as you would invalidate you warranty, clever dick! Plus as these are plated locks you would take on the top coating, making them look unsightly!

I believe the 10% discount code ( B15RBB01 ) can still be applied to the £130 which adjusts price to £117

Use the guide from Thule posted at the top of this thread and that will tell you what you need.

This was a fantastic deal, I've been keeping my eye on these specific roof bars for a few months as they are my chosen ones for my car. The roof bars I ordered have hardly moved at any retailer from the £240 mark, and managed to get them on this deal for £117 delivered. (Arriving this afternoon).

Just to note the huge discount has now expired as the roof bars are back up to full price on Halfords. (Though the 10% discount still works).

I've just received a email from Alford's saying they have cancelled my order due to a price error .can they do this?

Received mine in the post today.

My bars have been shipped directly from Thule (not Halfords) so I can only presume it was a pricing error, and a number of the orders had already been sent to Thule and processed before they could be cancelled.

Mine came today - direct from Thule as well by the looks.

Mine arrived today i ordered them on 1-6-14 to be delivered to my local Halfords , i received call from them today as they had arrived ready for pick up , i collected them and paid £117

My order has also been cancelled by Halfords citing a pricing error. Too good to be true it seems. I complained but they produced their 'right to cancel' from terms and conditions. Wasn't fast enough this time sadly.
