Thundercats, the classic 80s cartoon finally arrives on DVD! In a distant galaxy, the world of Thundera is in crisis. The planet's structure has become unstable and is near collapse. With their destruction imminent, Thundera's denizens, known as the Thundercats, escape in a spaceship and plot a course for a new home. While in transit, the Thundercats are attacked by evil mutants and their craft is irreparably damaged. Jaga, the eldest Thundercat, sacrifices himself in order to pilot the ship safely to its destination: Third Earth.

This 6 disc boxset contains 33 episodes of Season 1

Yeah.. their half of season 1 is something like £30.. which stopped me buying the Region 1 version. At this price.. it's much more reasonable

Don't forget the Quidco too!

The cheek of HMV bagging the exclusive rights though! Shame there's no vouchers doing the rounds, great price all the same.

I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it, I want it....!!!!!!

....now if they'd just release Mysterious Cities of Gold on DVD, I can complete my collection, and die a happy man!

Cheetara. i think every male fancied cheetara (and some fancied wilykit but they don't admit that.. hey it was the 80s)

for those unaquanted (sp?):
en.wikipedia.org/wik…ats

each series is in 2 halves, for a total of 4 purchases @ £60 total presumably

How did Lion O get so muscular, he was aged due to a crack in his capsule but I don't think he was pumping iron in his sleep.

The HMV website seems to imply that with this:

Thundercats HMV Exclusive Box Set This exclusive release is currently the only way to buy Thundercats on DVD in the UK. Keep checking the site for more Thundercats DVDs coming soon.

Unless.. it's more of an exclusive case thing for the boxset....:?

I had no idea what you guys were talking about, but I just watched that youtube link and I'm getting flasbacks to my chilchood here!! What year were those shows on, I must have been quite young but I can clearly remember that tune?!

On Wikipedia, it says it was originally aired in 1983, but even I would be too young (doesn't seem like it nowadays) to remember that fully, so I think it was repeated through out the 80's.
I can remember being so excited when they finally got to the city only for it to crumble to pieces...I was pretty hacked off.

Other 80s greats were;

ulysses 31
Dungeons & Dragons
pole position
jayce and the wheeled warriors
and of course transformers and He-man...

why did they all have such great theme music back then? I shouldn't think there will be any memorable cartoons from now in 20 years time.
