Robert Duvall is THX-1138, a humble worker in a soulless, sprawling subterranean society where each person has a number, not a name, sex is outlawed and laws are enforced by constant surveillance and sinister, silver faced androids. His discovery that there is more to life than the state-required drug stupor and the loss of his mate to a sinister technician finally gives him the courage to recover from his nightmare world.

Using strong visuals and astonishing sound effects to heighten the gripping story, George Lucas gave the world advance notice of his formidable talent with his classic debut feature 'THX-1138', adapted from his award-winning short film with the encouragement of none other than Francis Ford Coppola. Made in 1971, 'THX-1138' marked the stunning debut of one of the screen's most innovative filmmakers and was produced by Francis Ford Coppola and his revolutionary American Zoetrope studios at the height of the American independent movement.

Behave already

Thought exactly the same too!

I wasn't meaning it as a joke or disrespectful, but I think the jawline really looks like Jade and with someone mentioning yesterday that a second book and a film was being released:oops:

You've got to see the resemblance with this picture?

No, that's what most bald people or people with shaved heads look like - hence the front cover for the film.

I think that's really bad . You should say " I saw the cover " , not " I seen the cover ".

This was on Sky recently and so I recorded it, but haven't yet watched it....so have no idea how good or bad the film is but obviously know the George Lucas connection. Anybody seen it and care to comment? For £2.99 it's obviously worth a punt for Lucas fans as it's a special edition.

One of the best films I have ever seen, in fact my VHS copy is on my desk at the moment. But then again you have to like this sort of thing, if you enjoyed Zardoz, 2001 or Fahrenheit 451 then you should like this.

I was being even more obvious I thought.....:whistling:

Just watched it - not too bad overall.

"My time is your time", I've heard this in a song before but didn't realise it was from this movie

Mines arrived, just watched the documnetaries, worth the price alone. Now for the Directors cut... btw tried to add to your rep Andy and it said
"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to andywedge again."

Punished for being good I see?

Ive watched the docs and trailers but am worried about the actual film as it seems to have had CGI added, I really hope it doesnt spoil it because the lo tech but futuristic atmosphere of the original is what made it.
