6 year guarantee included with either.

White version is rather limited in stock. Lots of stores appear to stock one.

Black version: richersounds.com/tib…tml It can be ordered online/by phone/instore.

Several positive reviews.

Supposed to be a saving of £50 off the RRP.

A couple of alternatives you may wish to consider at a little more expense:

Yamaha NSF51: richersounds.com/yam…tml
Tannoy ECLIPSE 2: richersounds.com/tan…tml

Try and demo them all in your local store.

Ooft, don't pay 179 for the Eclipse 2s, I'll sell you the 3s for that price.
Always makes me laugh the 6 year warranty on speakers - is it in case they develop woodworm?

Yea
4-8 ohms, how does that work?
rev607/06/2019 20:04

What do you mean? Speakers vary during playback.

I've only ever had speakers with a specific number for ohms.

So why don't they just call this a 4 ohm speaker
Got it this week for £99 using (no longer working) code Audio50. Great budget speakers!
rev608/06/2019 11:55

Why not 6?

Well if 4 is the lowest resistance isn't that what anyone needs to know?

What did you compare them to? I do like the look of them

4-8 will do for me.
That article suggests 6 ohm speakers don't drop below 6 very much and presumably is the same for 8's etc. Isn't it there so you can work out what max load your putting on your amp with your particular setup?

For them to be rated 4-8 means, to me, they will be fine with an amp rated at 6-8ohm, without looking more into it. It's worth noting I've never seen a speaker rated that way but it still doesn't concern me too much. I can't imagine such cheap speakers would be rated like that if they put your average amp on it's knees powering them.

I'm trying to find more info about them. I can't even find them on their own website.

I have some wharfdale 230's, which I found very disappointing in the bass department and was looking for a subwoofer on the richer sounds website, when I saw the Tibo 450 edge. After reading the description and using the £50 off code I thought I'd take a chance. I'm honestly amazed at the levels of bass they put out. They're paired with a Yamaha as 50 amp and sound immense in a fairly small room. The volume levels and lack of distortion, compared to the wharfdales. Is night and day. Recommend.

What code did you use?
To add to the 4 or 8 comments. The Yamaha is switchable between the two. I just left it on 8 ohms and it sounds great
I think the code was audio50

That doesn't work sadly. I would have bought them at £100

Any mention of them being 3-way? What are the crossovers?
Bummer. After plugging mine in, I'd have paid the £149. If you get the chance try and get a demo. The difference between these and the wharfdales is, the Tibos seem to thrive on being driven hard , whereas the wharfdales distort very quickly.
Separate tweeter, mid and 2 response bass units. Haven't got a clue about the crossovers but, for this money, you really can't go wrong. Top end doesn't become shrill like the wharfdales did either

Being £99 would make it an impulse buy, £150 pushes it beyond that slightly

Yeah I was just wondering what the actual crossovers are, mostly with the mid. It's OK though. I will keep an eye out on them and see if the code comes back at some point. If you see that it does, let me know please!

To Wharfedale 230. Lower bass, but I’ll have subwoofer for that. On par with vocals and much lower price

That's peaked my interest, I have warfdale 220's and use them as rears but find them great. Do they look as good as in the picture?

It was online at the time, that’s how I got it. And yeah they look great. Smart look with cover on or modern without.
