Tidal in Turkey cost 10 Lira (£1.46) for Premium and 20 Lira (£2.91) or HIFI.

The idea is to use a VPN to sign up to Tidal service using a Turkey IP address and pay in the local currency.

Prerequisites

Sign up a free 14-day trial VPN. I used ZenVPN.

Sign up to an account with Starling Bank or Revolut and add funds.

Instructions:

1.Sign into VPN service and set location to Turkey.

2.Using a web browser visit tidal.com/tr

3.Sign up to a free trial and complete the form.

4.On the next screen, the prices of each subscription will be in Lira.

5.Select the preferred subscription and enter your card details. I used my Starling debit card to take advantage of the no fee option for foreign transaction.

6.Once completed you will have one month free and will be charged less than £1.50 per month for the standard subscription.

I use the IOS app without any issue. I'm charged monthly anywhere between £1.46-£1.58.

I have not ‘moved’ expired accounts to a Turkish subscription, however someone try and report back if it is possible.

Above also works for Netflix saves sharing account
Can this also be used for live TV such as watching the footie?
How would you get this from UK then?
This was a Fab deal when the TL was in the mid 8's per £1.. not so good now its in the mid 6's!!! But still a good buy!

If you do use this sign up, make sure that you remember to turn or uninstall the VPN once you have paid, so your normal "internet" log on's do not get messed up and blocked, when you forget and log into your bank on your phone from the UK, then 10 mins later, from your Chrome browser on your laptop.. in TURKEY!!
I did this for Deezer and have almost had a years use for about £20. Very important tip though its so much easier to do this through windows, couldnt do it properly through my android phone or tablet.

Using a VPN
Heat OP
So do you needs to get an address in Turkey to sign up. E.g. Google one?
Do you have to use the VPN all the time or just when you sign up? I don't want to mess about with a VPN for my AV receiver
Did this with a german offer in the past. You don't have to use a VPN after signing up but you will get "local" content on front page. Heat from me. Tidal HiFi is by far the best streaming service available.

Just download Speedify, it’s free then sign up with the vpn on and you don’t need to use it after
Still a waste of money!!

Its a music streaming service.
It's not a 'waste' of money as it is a very good streaming service. Better than the others, for me. But the deal giving 6 months free is even better for me at the moment.

The app sucks when compared to other platforms. Sound quality is better though.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

Basically is a complete HiFi player that is able among other things to connect to streaming services and reproduce content at better audio quality in certain setups. There is plenty of info on it here. head-fi.org/thr…65/
If you're looking for audio quality strongly recommended . For interface get poweramp or something like that.

It'll be fine once erdogan takes charge of the central bank and cuts rates again. Sorry for the Turkish though.

I would like to see Tidal have some way for their listeners to search songs within a playlist. Why on earth would they not have this feature. Audio quality is one thing, usability is another.

How can you add family members? tried to, even connected to the VPN to a Turkey server, still comes back with an error saying the details are from a different country than the account. Cleared all cache and login saved dat, tried again, still the same. Any ideas if anybody managed to do this?
Thanks guys.
Has anyone got this working?
I got this working.
Used vpn to initially register.
Goto Tidal website and log in.
Under family member section there is option to add family members.
Did this with vpn to Turkey server.
Anyone tried this with monzo? I got an email saying that there’s a problem with my card. There were no issues when signing up. Alternatively is PayPal an option?
I challenge anyone to blind test recognise the audio difference! I work in a studio with awesome gear and I often get it wrong. The point being if you have to concentrate that hard then there really is no difference worth speaking of. Take some online blind tests!

vote hot because errrr its a great deal!

You mean talking about Master quality, FLAC, etc?

Yip. Thing is even when playing with master files when mixing dropping a sound in or out changes so much. Its always funny when playing master vocals people are like thats not the original, drop the mix back and then booosh omg face hehe. Sound is subjective but it takes effort to to discern a flac from 320 etc.
